Frequently Asked Questions

You need a wide boot if your foot feels pinched across the ball in a standard boot, your toes splay against the sides, or you have gone up half a size purely to get width and now your heel lifts. A wide boot is about the width of your foot, not its length. Going up in length to chase width is the most common fitting mistake and it costs you control, because a boot that is too long lets your foot slide and blunts the response to your board.

A wide snowboard boot uses a last that is broader through the forefoot and often deeper in volume, so a wide or high-instep foot sits properly without going up in length. A bigger standard size adds length you do not need, which lets your foot slide and reduces board control. The wide last solves the width while keeping the correct length.

Yes. Aside from the wider last, a wide boot behaves like its standard sibling, so flex rating, lacing and liner are usually the same. Softer flex suits beginners and park riders who want mobility; stiffer flex suits all-mountain and freeride riders who want response at speed. Closure comes in BOA for quick even tension, Speed Lace for fast pull-and-lock adjustment, and traditional laces for the most zonal control.

Snug from day one. The liner packs out roughly half a size with use, so your toes should just brush the end when you stand and pull back when you flex into your riding stance. A boot that feels roomy in the shop will be too loose after a few days riding.

Yes. Every boot bought from us includes free custom heat moulding in our in-house workshop, which shapes the liner to your foot in under an hour and takes the guesswork out of a wide fit. Because AU and NZ resorts often mean long travel for short trips, we recommend getting the fit dialled before you go rather than breaking boots in on the hill.

We carry wide-fit snowboard boots from Burton, K2, Salomon, Ride and more, across BOA, Speed Lace and traditional lace closures. Free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $90.
