No, that is a common myth. FlightRisk makes street legal models like the FR303, and a fat tyre bike is exactly as legal as any other bike as long as it meets the street legal spec. The higher-output FR models are built for off-road and private land. If you would like a hand choosing, give us a call.
In Australia a street legal e-bike is EN15194-certified: a 250W motor, pedal-assist, cutting off at 25km/h, treated the same as a regular bicycle with no licence or registration. The fat tyres make no difference to that. The FR303 is FlightRisk's street legal pedal-assist option, while the higher-output models are made for off-road use.
The numbers scale with power, range and capability. FR303 and FR333 are the accessible entry point, with the FR303 being the street legal pedal-assist option. FR505 and FR555 are the popular mid-range. FR666 and FR777 are the high-output performance models made for off-road and private land.

Yes. Professional assembly and safety check in our Richmond workshop before you ride it, plus Frosty's in-house service, repairs, spares and warranty seven days a week. We stock FlightRisk spares including chargers, so repairs do not wait on overseas parts.
