What makes a good skate backpack?

• Durability — tough fabric and reinforced bases that survive being dropped, thrown and dragged daily.
• Practical storage — room for a laptop, spare clothes, tools and the day's gear, with pockets that keep it organised.

Plenty of skaters also just use a well-built everyday backpack; the board straps are the main thing that makes a dedicated skate pack worth it if you carry your board a lot.

What size backpack do you need?

It depends on your day. A compact pack suits short trips and carrying the essentials. A larger daypack works if you are commuting with a laptop, carrying clothes, or heading out for the day. If you carry your board regularly, prioritise a pack with solid board straps over sheer size.
