Ride Specter Men's Snowboard Binding 2027 | Black
Ride Specter 2027 in Black: A Mellow Park Binding With Zero Gimmicks.
The Ride Specter is the binding we point park riders towards when they want something light, soft and simple. Ride rates the 2027 Specter as Mellow for response and lists park as its specialty, and it sits on Ride's A-Series aluminium chassis, which keeps weight down and comes with Ride's lifetime chassis warranty.
On snow the Specter is all about feel. The aluminium base moves with your board, so presses and butters come easily and the board still pops off lips the way it should. The flat nylon highback has no forward lean block; Ride has set the lean angle and flex for freestyle, so there's nothing to fiddle with. The two-piece ankle strap pairs a medium flex urethane frame with soft cushioning, and the Minimalist Toe Strap 2.0 keeps your boot pinned to the binding. In Black it's the low-key option that suits any park setup.
The Tech and What It Does on the Hill
✅ A-Series Aluminium Chassis: light, tough and backed by Ride's lifetime chassis warranty; the aluminium moves with your board, so presses and butters feel natural
✅ Flat Nylon Highback: no forward lean block to fiddle with; Ride has set the lean angle and flex specifically for freestyle
✅ Two-Piece Ankle Strap: a medium flex urethane frame with softer cushioning that spreads pressure evenly across your boot
✅ Minimalist Toe Strap 2.0: run it over the top or across the front of the boot for a tight boot to binding connection
✅ Linkage Ratchets: no ratchet wag, and the ladders hold up longer
✅ Canted Footbed with A-Series Diecut EVA Pad: a natural knee alignment plus damping for the slap of flat landings and icy take-offs
✅ Tool-less strap removal: toe and ankle straps come off without tools
✅ Fully adjustable chassis: centre the boot heel to toe for balanced edge control
Best for: park riders and freestylers who want a mellow, lightweight snowboard binding with plenty of board feel for jumps, rails, boxes, butters and jibs.
Built for Australian Conditions
Australian parks are at their best in spring sunshine and at their toughest on a cold morning when the take-offs are rock hard. A mellow binding with good damping helps with both: the Diecut EVA pad and canted footbed soften frozen landings at Perisher or Thredbo, and the forgiving flex makes slushy afternoon laps at Buller or Hotham a lot more playful. Heading to a Japan or Canada park? The light weight helps on long days of hiking features.
Setup Tips from the Shop
Centre the boot on the chassis so the toe and heel overhang match, then set the straps so the ratchets close with travel to spare. Plenty of park riders start with a duck stance and tweak the angles after a few laps; there's no forward lean block to set, so it really is mount and go. Try the toe strap over the top of the boot and across the front to see which holds you better, and check the disc screws after your first couple of days. Buy in store and we'll mount and set them up for free.
Not for you if: you spend most of your day carving groomers at speed or riding steep freeride terrain and want plenty of edge hold. Browse our men's snowboard bindings and use the filters to find a stiffer, more responsive binding in your size.

FAQs
What size Ride Specter binding should I buy?
Ride's chart lists the Medium for US Men's 6 to 10 and the Large for US Men's 10.5 and up. If your boots sit near the crossover, bring them to 435A Bridge Rd Richmond and we'll check the fit, or call us on 03 9421 2293. Our binding size charts cover every brand on the wall.
Is the Ride Specter only a park binding?
Ride rates it Mellow and lists park as its specialty, so that's its home. It'll cruise the rest of the mountain at relaxed speeds, but if you spend most of the day carving hard you'll be happier in something stiffer.
Why doesn't the Ride Specter have a forward lean block?
Ride built the flat nylon highback without one and set the forward lean angle and flex for freestyle. Fewer parts means less weight and less to adjust, which suits park riders.
Will the Ride Specter fit my board?
The Specter comes with a plastic mounting disc. Ride doesn't list insert compatibility, so send us your board model or bring the board in and we'll confirm before you buy.
About Ride
Ride started out of the Seattle area in 1992 with freestyle running through everything it made, and more than three decades on it still builds snowboards, boots and bindings with the same attitude: put the effort into how the gear rides, not into marketing gimmicks. You can see it in the details we care about at the shop, like aluminium binding chassis covered by a lifetime warranty, boot outsoles made with up to 30% reground rubber, and FSC certified packaging.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
