Ride Drone Men's Snowboard Binding 2027 | Black
Ride Drone 2027 in Black: The All-Mountain Binding That Lets You Feel the Board.
Ask us for a binding that does a bit of everything without feeling dead underfoot and the Ride Drone usually comes up. It's Ride's medium response men's snowboard binding for 2027, rated by Ride for all mountain, powder and park, and it's built on an A-Series aluminium chassis rather than the plastic base you find on a lot of bindings at this level.
That aluminium is what you notice on the hill. The chassis is slimmer than a moulded base, so the board bends more freely under you, and the extruded heel cup gets you onto your heel edge in a hurry. The two-piece ankle strap gives a little on the inside of the ankle when you drop into a turn, and the light 3D shaped highback backs you up without turning the binding into a brick. The Black colourway is the quiet achiever: it disappears onto any topsheet and keeps looking clean for seasons.
The Tech and What It Does on the Hill
✅ A-Series Aluminium Chassis: light and strong, and slimmer than a moulded plastic base, so your board can flex more freely from tip to tail. Ride covers the chassis with a lifetime warranty
✅ Extruded Aluminium Heel Cup: quick transfer from toe edge to heel edge, so the board turns when you ask it to
✅ Two-Piece Asymmetrical Ankle Strap: more give on the inside of your ankle so you can still move, with a urethane frame and a cushion that spreads out as you ratchet down, so no hot spots
✅ 3D Shaped Asymmetrical Highback: medium flex and very light, solid support on heelside turns without making the binding feel rigid
✅ Minimalist Core Toe Strap: sits wherever suits your boot, over the top or on the toe
✅ Linkage Ratchets: no ratchet wag and ladders that last longer
✅ Canted Footbed with A-Series TPU Base Pad: keeps your knees in a more natural line and calms the buzz from chatter and firm landings
✅ Tool-less strap removal: pull the toe and ankle straps off without hunting for a screwdriver
✅ Fully adjustable chassis: centre your boot heel to toe over the board for even leverage on both edges
Best for: intermediate to advanced riders after a medium response, all-mountain snowboard binding with real board feel, ready for groomers, powder days and laps through the park.
Built for Australian Conditions
On a typical day at Thredbo or Perisher you'll ride firm, scraped groomers first thing, soft slush after lunch and chopped up refrozen lumps on the way home. A medium response binding with a damp base pad is a sensible match for that mix. The Drone holds an edge when it's icy, the TPU base pad takes the sting out of the chatter, and the flexy chassis keeps things relaxed when the snow softens. Saving for a Japan or Canada trip? It's the same binding you'll want in the trees.
Setup Tips from the Shop
Start by centring your boot so the toe and heel hang over the edges by roughly the same amount; the fully adjustable chassis makes that easy. Set the strap lengths so the ankle padding sits square across the middle of your boot and the ratchet still has a few clicks of travel left when it's tight. Check the mounting screws after your first couple of days on snow, because new discs can settle. We'll mount and set up your bindings for free when you buy in store.
Not for you if: you mostly ride the park and want something softer and looser, or you're after a stiff freeride binding for high speed charging. Browse our men's snowboard bindings and use the filters to find the flex you want in your size.

FAQs
What size Ride Drone binding do I need?
Ride's chart puts the Medium at US Men's 6 to 10 and the Large at US Men's 10.5 and up. Outsoles vary between boot brands, so if you're near the edge of a range, bring your boots to 435A Bridge Rd Richmond and we'll strap them in, or call us on 03 9421 2293. Our binding size charts cover every brand we stock.
How stiff is the Ride Drone?
Ride gives it a Medium response rating and lists it for all mountain, powder and park. The aluminium chassis is designed to move with your board rather than lock it up, so it feels supportive but not harsh.
Why does the Ride Drone use an aluminium chassis?
Aluminium is strong and light, and because the chassis is slimmer than a plastic base, the board can flex more naturally underfoot. Ride backs the aluminium chassis with a lifetime warranty, and it's fully recyclable.
Will the Ride Drone fit my snowboard?
It comes with a plastic mounting disc. Ride doesn't publish a list of insert patterns for it, so send us your board model or bring the board in and we'll confirm before you buy.
About Ride
Ride started out of the Seattle area in 1992 with freestyle running through everything it made, and more than three decades on it still builds snowboards, boots and bindings with the same attitude: put the effort into how the gear rides, not into marketing gimmicks. You can see it in the details we care about at the shop, like aluminium binding chassis covered by a lifetime warranty, boot outsoles made with up to 30% reground rubber, and FSC certified packaging.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
