Ride Insano Men's Snowboard Boot 2027 | Black
Ride Insano 2027: The Stiffest Boot in Ride's Line, Now With a New Wrap Fit.
The Ride Insano is the boot we hand to riders who tell us their current boots fold when they push hard. For 2027 Ride rates this men's snowboard boot Aggressive for response, lists it for all mountain and powder, and says plainly that it's the stiffest boot in the Ride line. This season it also gets a new fit system: The Closer 2.0, using BOA PerformFit Wrap powered by H5.
That new wrap is the part you'll feel first. Instead of pulling a lace straight down, independent panels wrap over your midfoot, so the hold is more even, there are fewer pressure points and your heel sits deeper in the pocket. A dual-dial BOA Zonal Fit System lets you fine tune different zones of the boot separately. The Intuition Dream Liner gives a supportive, rebounding fit, the Flex Slime Tongue 2.0 adds damping and spring as you load the front of the boot, and the Michelin Traverse outsole with its criss-cross TPU shank keeps things stable underfoot. The Black colourway is classic Insano: stealthy and serious.
The Tech and What It Does on the Hill
✅ The Closer 2.0 with BOA PerformFit Wrap powered by H5: panels wrap over the midfoot for even hold, fewer pressure points, better heel hold and direct power to your edges
✅ BOA Zonal Fit System: two dials so you can set different zones of the boot independently for a more precise fit
✅ Intuition Dream Liner: multi-density foam inside a supportive skeletal structure, built for rebound and hold when you're pushing hard
✅ Flex Slime Tongue 2.0: Ride's third generation tongue with an articulated flex zone for smoother flex, rebound and damping
✅ Michelin Traverse outsole: a criss-cross external TPU shank for stability, Michelin tread for grip on snow and ice, and a recessed pattern underfoot for board feel
✅ ECO +SLIME midsole and Impacto Elite insole: responsive cushioning for landings plus a dual density insole with a TPU support shank
✅ Cored Ankle Pockets, Slip Grip and J Bars: an anatomical ankle shape and a liner that tightens with the shell to stop heel lift
✅ Rebound Heelcounter 2.0 and TPU Toe Cap: durable TPU at the heel and toe, with dual density heel counter construction to tune the flex
✅ C.A.T. and Lace Cover: adjust the calf zone with Velcro, and keep snow out of the lacing
✅ Heat Reflective Foil and Black Gold Liner Mesh: warmer toes, plus bamboo charcoal mesh to manage moisture and odour
Best for: advanced to expert riders who want Ride's stiffest snowboard boot for high-speed all-mountain riding, steep terrain and deep powder, with maximum response and hold.
Built for Australian Conditions
When the groomers at Thredbo and Perisher freeze overnight, you need a boot that will drive a stiff board into the ice without folding. That's where the Insano's Aggressive response pays off: hold an edge on scraped hardpack in the morning, then plough through heavy slush and refrozen chop at Hotham or Buller in the afternoon without your ankles getting knocked around. For trips to Japan or Canada, where you're riding long, steep, deep runs all day, a stiff, well-damped boot keeps you in control and saves your legs.
Setup Tips from the Shop
Stiff boots need a careful fit. Try them on with one thin pair of riding socks, stand tall so your toes just brush the end, then bend your knees and check that your heel stays down. Bring both dials up to snug, check that your heel stays locked as you flex, then fine tune each dial on the hill rather than cranking both. Set the C.A.T. so the cuff meets your calf evenly. Expect a stiff boot like this to feel firm on day one. Book a free boot fitting in store and we'll make sure the size is right before you ride.
Not for you if: you're still building your skills, spend most of your time in the park, or want a boot that's easy to flex. Browse our men's snowboard boots and use the filters to find a softer, more forgiving boot in your size.

FAQs
What size Ride Insano snowboard boot should I buy?
Ride builds the Insano on its Silver Last with 1:1 lasting, so each whole and half size has its own matched liner. Start with your usual riding size and always try a stiff boot on before you buy. Our boot fit guide explains what to look for, or book a free fitting at 435A Bridge Rd Richmond or call 03 9421 2293.
How stiff is the Ride Insano?
Ride rates the Insano Aggressive for response and calls it the stiffest boot in the Ride line. It's built for riders who want maximum support on every run across all mountain and powder terrain, not for soft park laps.
What is The Closer 2.0 on the Ride Insano?
It's Ride's new dial activated fit system using BOA PerformFit Wrap powered by H5. Independent panels wrap over your midfoot to spread pressure more evenly, improve heel hold and transfer power to the board.
Does the Ride Insano have two BOA dials?
Yes. The BOA Zonal Fit System uses a dual-dial setup, so you can adjust the fit in different zones of the boot independently.
What's new on the 2027 Ride Insano?
Ride's big updates for this season are The Closer 2.0 with BOA PerformFit Wrap powered by H5 and the updated Flex Slime Tongue 2.0. It still runs the Intuition Dream Liner and a Michelin outsole.
About Ride
Ride started out of the Seattle area in 1992 with freestyle running through everything it made, and more than three decades on it still builds snowboards, boots and bindings with the same attitude: put the effort into how the gear rides, not into marketing gimmicks. You can see it in the details we care about at the shop, like aluminium binding chassis covered by a lifetime warranty, boot outsoles made with up to 30% reground rubber, and FSC certified packaging.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
Over a decade in business. More than 1,000 reviews. The most trusted specialist board store in Melbourne. If you need advice before you buy, call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us in-store, or contact us online — we'll get you sorted.
