Fat boy from 12 Boards

I absolutely love the bike and use it nearly everyday.
I’m 67 years old but it’s a bit like going back to having dirt bikes in the mid seventies! Also 12 boards was easy to deal with. A great shop.

Adding another to my collection, best layer for 1st or 2nd layer.

Bent Metal Transfer Men's Snowboard Binding 2026 | Red

Seriously Underrated

These bindings are seriously Underrated, and Bent Metal are now gonna be my go-to bindings for the next few seasons.

I've been riding for 3 decades, and most recently have had Burton Vita's and Cartels, Now's, Joneses, Union Ultras, Nitro Phantoms and Team Pros, Rome Katanas and other stuff I have lost track of.

These Bent Metals have the response and support of a stiffer binding, the dampening to rival my Nitro Phantoms (with that fancy air injected foam and airbag in the heel) and yet are better straps and dampening WITH control, than my Union Ultras - which now, I will be selling.

And they also allow me to move around on board, for when I want to get surfy carvy.

They were not wrong when they said you get dampening AND underfoot feel - with most bindings, you lose one as you gain the other.

You also get the mini disc for microscopic, millimetre perfect stance adjustment.

The straps are super comfy and conform nicely around my boot, crating no pressure points, and the dampening allows my clapped out feet to ride for just that little bit longer, compared to the rest of my binding quiver.

For anyone thinking of these as an outlier potential options to your standard Union Forces or Rome Katanas or Burton Cartels - these are better in many, many ways.

Take the risk, and get yourself a pair!

Great service from twelve board store, lots of communication and superfast delivery, first bracket board Iv had and i love it, nice and stable but with good turning, dad bod wheels are smooth and roll over anything and the blue wheels match nicely to the board for a neat looking outfit, very happy with the loaded board!

Exactly what i orderes

Awesome fit!

This helmet is AWESOME! The perfect fit, easy clasp, and fab colour have made my daily bike commute safe and more fun! There’s a risk buying equipment online however this has exceeded my hopes, PLUS the handy hole for sliding it onto the lock is a great design feature I didn’t;t know I needed. Wishing I had brought the magnetic light to go with it. Would def buy again.

Nidecker LT Supermatic Snowboard Binding | Bio Black | 2026

Kick. Click. Go. Zero Compromises.

The Nidecker LT Supermatic is the most performance-focused binding in Nidecker's Supermatic automatic entry range — leaner, meaner, and built for riders who want the convenience of step-in entry without giving anything away to a traditional two-strap binding in terms of response, edge drive, or lateral support. Where the original OG Supermatic is a versatile all-rounder, the LT steps things up with a stiffer, more streamlined asymmetric highback and a lower-mass strap design that reduces dead weight and puts more energy where it matters: into the board. At flex 4/5, this is a stiff binding tuned for resort charging, aggressive carving, and riders who want their gear to keep up when they're pushing hard. The Bio Black colourway draws on Nidecker's Bio Series aesthetic — a clean, dark finish that sits well against any board graphic.

The heart of the LT Supermatic is Drop IN™ technology — a triggered highback system that reclines automatically when you step back, letting you push your foot straight through from behind, step down on the heel pedal, and have the highback re-engage instantly. Active Strap Technology works in tandem, lifting the straps out of the way when the highback reclines and snapping them back to your pre-set tension the moment you click in. This is not a slower or more cumbersome process than traditional straps — in practice it is significantly faster, which matters at the top of every run when you're standing on a slope in cold weather. The Nylon+ S Ultraback highback is the key upgrade over the OG Supermatic: a stiffer, more structured profile with speed entry spines on the inside face for smoother foot engagement, and more aggressive lateral walls that drive energy into toeside and heelside turns with noticeably more authority. The Exo-Frame S Hybrid ankle strap is a single piece of injected TPU — bombproof, lightweight, and with a smooth undersurface that lets your boot glide cleanly into position. LSR 2.0 Auto-Lock ratchets lock in both directions as soon as you stop cranking, so strap tension is set once and stays set without any fidgeting.

Binding Size Guide
Important: Nidecker Supermatic bindings run approximately one size smaller than traditional bindings due to the step-in entry geometry. Use the official Nidecker size chart below — do not use your usual binding size as a guide without checking.

Size US Men's Boot EU UK Mondo
M 5.5 – 8.0 37.5 – 41 4.5 – 7 23.5 – 26
L 8.5 – 10.5 41.5 – 44 7.5 – 9.5 26.5 – 28.5
XL 11.0 – 13.0 44.5 – 47 10 – 12 29 – 31

Bio Black is available in M, L, and XL. If you're between sizes or unsure whether to size up or down, call us on 03 9421 2293 or come into the store at 435A Bridge Rd Richmond — getting the Supermatic size right is especially important for the step-in entry to engage correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Supermatic sizing runs differently to standard bindings — how do I get it right?
Nidecker explicitly states that Supermatic bindings run approximately one size smaller than traditional bindings, because the step-in entry geometry requires the boot to seat precisely in the heelcup for the Drop IN™ mechanism to engage correctly. If you normally ride a Medium in a traditional two-strap binding, check the Nidecker size chart against your actual boot size rather than just ordering a Medium — you may need to go up a size. The boot's heel should sit centred in the binding heelcup when engaged, with the straps reaching across the boot without over-extension. If you're between sizes, thicker boots or boots with bulkier profiles tend to benefit from sizing up; low-profile, precision-fit boots can often stay in the lower size. Come into the store at 435A Bridge Rd Richmond with your boots so we can check the fit in person before you ride — correct sizing is especially critical for Supermatic entry to function reliably. Call 03 9421 2293 if you want to talk it through first.

Will the Supermatic system work with my boots?
Yes — the Supermatic® system is compatible with any snowboard boot from any brand. You do not need Nidecker boots or any special boot sole to use the Drop IN™ entry. The system works via a heel pedal activation that is triggered by the weight of your foot stepping down, not by any proprietary sole technology. That said, boot sole stiffness and heel cup geometry do affect how smoothly the entry engages: stiffer-soled boots generally engage more crisply, while very flexible soles can sometimes require a firmer heel press. The Offset Multi-Disk is compatible with standard 4x4 inserts and Burton's Channel system. It is not compatible with 2x4 inserts or Burton EST directly — if you're running an older Burton board with 2x4-only inserts, confirm compatibility with us on 03 9421 2293 before ordering.

How does the Drop IN™ entry system actually work — and is it reliable on steep terrain?
Drop IN™ is a triggered highback system. When you recline the highback (it folds back automatically when the release lever is engaged), Active Strap Technology simultaneously lifts the ankle strap out of the way. You slide your foot in from the back, step down on the heel pedal, and the highback snaps back up into riding position, tensioning the straps to your pre-set setting in one motion. Exit is equally fast — pull the release lever and step back out. In practice, the system is significantly faster than traditional strap entry, particularly in cold weather when fingers are numb and buckle fumbling is frustrating. On steep terrain, the LSR 2.0 Auto-Lock ratchets hold strap tension securely in both directions, so there's no risk of straps loosening mid-run. The main discipline required is setting your strap tension correctly during initial setup — once that's dialled, the system repeats that tension every time you step in without any further adjustment. If you want to see it in action before buying, come into the store and we'll walk you through it.

Is the LT Supermatic right for my ability level and riding style?
The LT Supermatic is rated 4/5 stiff — it's a binding for intermediate to advanced riders who want more response and drive than a medium-flex binding provides, without going to the full race-stiffness of a specialist freeride binding. The 5/5 resort terrain rating tells you what it's optimised for: groomed runs, hardpack carving, side hits, and all-mountain charging where edge hold and energy transfer matter most. It's also rated 4/5 for powder, where the stiff highback and lateral support help drive the nose down on steep lines. Park is rated 3/5 — it'll handle park laps well but it's not a soft, playful park-focused setup. The binding pairs particularly well with riders who run Nidecker's own boards (the Altai or Smoke for freeride, for example) and want the whole system — board, boot, binding — working together with Nidecker's engineering logic. At Buller, Falls Creek, and Hotham, where reliable edge hold on variable snow is more useful than forgiveness, the LT Supermatic's stiff response genuinely earns its keep from first run to last.

About Nidecker
Nidecker was founded in 1887 in Rolle, Switzerland — originally as a family workshop crafting wooden products, then skis, before building their first snowboard in 1984. Five generations of the Nidecker family later, the company is still headquartered in Rolle, still 100% family owned, and now operates as the Nidecker Group — the parent company behind Jones Snowboards, NOW Bindings, YES Snowboards, Rome SDS, Bataleon, Flow, ThirtyTwo, and a handful of skateboarding brands. They are the oldest continually operating European snowboard brand, and the Supermatic® system — a step-in binding that works with any boot — is one of the most significant binding innovations in the sport's history. Nidecker is a member of 1% For The Planet and donates 1% of all sales directly to environmental initiatives.

About Snowboard Bindings — Buying Guide

Bindings are the most underestimated part of your snowboard setup. Most riders spend weeks choosing a board and minutes choosing bindings — but bindings are the complete communication layer between your body and your board. Every turn you initiate, every edge you engage, every carve and press travels from your boots through your bindings to the board. Get this right and you'll never think about them again. Get it wrong and it's all you'll think about all day.

At Twelve Board Store we stock bindings from Burton, Ride, K2, Nitro, Flux, Salomon, Jones, Rome, Bent Metal and Nidecker — covering traditional strap, Burton Step On® and Supermatic rear-entry systems across all price points and riding styles.

Sizing — every brand is different: Boot size drives binding size, but S/M/L/XL means something different across every brand. Burton Small runs US 3–6. Flux Small runs US 4–6. Nitro Small runs US 5–6. Never assume your size is the same brand to brand — check the sizing chart for each binding before you buy. When you're between sizes, go smaller. A snug binding fits better than a loose one every time.

Systems: Traditional strap bindings work with every boot and offer the widest range of options and price points. Burton Step On® requires specific compatible Burton boots — three contact points click in when you step on the board, no straps, completely different experience for resort riders doing laps. Supermatic rear-entry (Nidecker OG, Nidecker LT, Bent Metal Lightning) folds the highback down for faster entry without the boot compatibility requirement of Step On.

Setup matters: Once you have the right binding, set it up correctly. Boot centred toe-to-heel over the board edge. Toe strap centred across the widest part of your toe box — not on your toes. Ankle strap centred across the top of your ankle. Straps firm but not crushing. If you need to over-tighten to stop heel lift, the binding is too large.

Not sure which binding suits your setup? Call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us at 435A Bridge Road Richmond, or contact us online. We'll match you to the right binding for your boot, your board and how you ride.
