Bent Metal Axtion Men's Snowboard Binding | Grey/Green | 2026
Team-Tested. All-Mountain Proven. Built to Work.
The Axtion is the binding the Bent Metal team actually rides. Not a flagship to sell the brand, not a budget filler — the day-in day-out all-mountain workhorse trusted by intermediate to advanced riders on every kind of terrain. At 7/10 flex it's responsive enough to drive hard turns and hold steeper groomed snow, forgiving enough to ride all day without fatigue. The Grey/Green is the Bent Metal x Gnu Works colourway — Gnu's weird scientist let loose on the drive plate with swirling blue, grey, and orange. All the same components, with more personality.
The Magnesium Fiber Flex Control Drive Plate is what separates Bent Metal from the field. Built at Mervin's Washington State factory using the same composite expertise behind Lib Tech and Gnu snowboards — magnesium fibres, UHMW core, fiberglass footbed panels — it flexes, stores, and returns energy dynamically. It mirrors your board's character instead of sitting as a dead interface between boot and board. Riders who switch to Bent Metal from conventional bindings describe the plate as the binding becoming part of the snowboard. The Uni-Body nylon chassis absorbs vibration and keeps the ride composed. A 3° canted heel wedge recentres balance and reduces fatigue on long days.
The Performance Polymer Highback is slightly cupped and slightly asymmetric — smooth lateral mobility without losing heel-to-toe support. The Dual Band Ankle Strap uses a large cored compression window for all-day comfort with edge hold when it matters. Grip Form Toe Strap conforms to any boot shape. The Cube forward lean adjuster runs four positions (10°, 14°, 18°, 22°), tool-free, with urethane damping and clear visual markers. Large Axis Disk covers 2x4, 4x4, and Channel™. Forged aluminium buckles throughout.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size do I need?
Match your US Men's boot size to the chart above. Between sizes — go up. Call us on 03 9421 2293 and we'll confirm the right size for your boots.
Will it fit my board?
Yes. The Large Axis Disk covers 2x4, 4x4, and Burton Channel™ — virtually every board on the market. Not sure about your specific setup? Call us or message through the contact page before you buy.
Is 7/10 the right flex for me?
The Axtion is Bent Metal's all-mountain sweet spot — right for intermediate to advanced riders who lap the full mountain. Want something softer for jibbing and park? The Bolt (5/10) is the step down. Charging hard on steeps and want maximum response? The Logic or Transfer are the step up.
What makes the Flex Control Drive Plate different?
Most baseplates are injection-moulded plastic — structural but dead underfoot. The Bent Metal Drive Plate uses Mervin's composite process: magnesium fibres, UHMW core, fiberglass panels — the same materials expertise behind Lib Tech and Gnu boards. It flexes dynamically, stores and returns energy, and makes the binding feel like part of the snowboard rather than sitting on top of it.
About Bent Metal Binding Works
Bent Metal was launched in 2016 by Mervin Manufacturing — the Washington State company behind Lib Tech and Gnu since 1987. Three decades of composite snowboard engineering, applied to the binding. The Flex Control Drive Plates are built at Mervin's factory using environmentally considered materials and zero hazardous waste manufacturing. Jamie Lynn heads the team. Bent Metal makes bindings and nothing else — and that focus shows.

About Snowboard Bindings — Buying Guide
Bindings are the most underestimated part of your snowboard setup. Most riders spend weeks choosing a board and minutes choosing bindings — but bindings are the complete communication layer between your body and your board. Every turn you initiate, every edge you engage, every carve and press travels from your boots through your bindings to the board. Get this right and you'll never think about them again. Get it wrong and it's all you'll think about all day.
At Twelve Board Store we stock bindings from Burton, Ride, K2, Nitro, Flux, Salomon, Jones, Rome, Bent Metal and Nidecker — covering traditional strap, Burton Step On® and Supermatic rear-entry systems across all price points and riding styles.
Sizing — every brand is different: Boot size drives binding size, but S/M/L/XL means something different across every brand. Burton Small runs US 3–6. Flux Small runs US 4–6. Nitro Small runs US 5–6. Never assume your size is the same brand to brand — check the sizing chart for each binding before you buy. When you're between sizes, go smaller. A snug binding fits better than a loose one every time.
Systems: Traditional strap bindings work with every boot and offer the widest range of options and price points. Burton Step On® requires specific compatible Burton boots — three contact points click in when you step on the board, no straps, completely different experience for resort riders doing laps. Supermatic rear-entry (Nidecker OG, Nidecker LT, Bent Metal Lightning) folds the highback down for faster entry without the boot compatibility requirement of Step On.
Setup matters: Once you have the right binding, set it up correctly. Boot centred toe-to-heel over the board edge. Toe strap centred across the widest part of your toe box — not on your toes. Ankle strap centred across the top of your ankle. Straps firm but not crushing. If you need to over-tighten to stop heel lift, the binding is too large.
Not sure which binding suits your setup? Call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us at 435A Bridge Road Richmond, or contact us online. We'll match you to the right binding for your boot, your board and how you ride.
