YES Greats UnInc Snowboard | 2027
Modern Twin. Historic DNA.
The YES Greats UnInc 2027 is more than a freestyle snowboard — it's a statement piece rooted in the legacy of YES founders Romain DeMarchi, JP Solberg, and DCP. Featuring artwork inspired by some of the most influential video parts in snowboard history, the Greats UnInc blends heritage with next-generation performance. It's widely regarded as one of the best carving twins on the market — and once you ride it, you'll understand why.
At the core of the Greats UnInc is its asymmetrical design philosophy. Toe-side and heel-side turns require different mechanics — your heelside naturally wants a tighter, deeper radius than your toeside — so YES engineered the Asym Twin shape and Asym MidBite outline to match those differences. The heelside sidecut is shorter and deeper; the toeside is longer and shallower. Riding in a centered duck stance, your body's asymmetry and the board's asymmetry cancel each other out, making every turn feel equally natural and balanced — regular or switch. The result is a twin that grips exceptionally well on hard snow, carves with authority, and still keeps its freestyle playfulness intact.
MidBite steps the sidecut inward 1.5mm between the bindings — a single long disruption that cheats the effective waist width narrower for quicker edge-to-edge response, while maintaining the wider platform at the tip and tail for pop, float, and stable landings. CamRock 2-4-2 provides camber control underfoot with rocker in the tip and tail for forgiveness and lift. The Torrent Core uses 20% Poplar and 80% Paulownia — lighter than a standard blend, with Paulownia significantly reducing weight while maintaining strength. Air L Carbon Reinforcement runs as a straight stringer of biaxial aerospace carbon fiber along the middle of the board from tip to insert packs, enhancing longitudinal stiffness without adding weight. Forever Flex manufacturing stabilises the flex and rocker profile for the board's lifetime.

Asym MidBite Technology
The Asym Twin applies a tighter, shorter heelside sidecut radius compared to the toeside, balancing out the body's natural asymmetry when riding in a duck stance. MidBite steps the sidecut inward 1.5mm between the bindings — a single long disruption that cheats the effective waist width narrower for quicker edge-to-edge response. From your bindings out to the end of the sidecut, the board maintains a wider platform for pop, float, and stable landings. The result is smoother transitions, stronger grip on firm snow, and carving performance that feels intuitive and natural — heel or toe, regular or switch.
Board Specs
| Size | Waist Width (cm) | Effective Edge (cm) | Sidecut Heel / Toe (m) | Rider Weight (kg) |
| 149 | 24.5 | 114.6 | 5.7 / 6.2 | 48–75 |
| 151 | 25.3 | 116.4 | 5.9 / 6.4 | 53–80 |
| 154 | 25.6 | 119.1 | 6.1 / 6.6 | 58–85 |
| 156 | 25.9 | 120.8 | 6.3 / 6.8 | 58–85 |
| 159 | 26.2 | 123.5 | 6.5 / 7.0 | 63–95 |
Note: The asymmetric sidecut means heelside and toeside sidecut radii differ by design — this is intentional, not an error. MidBite also creates a narrower effective waist width than the spec suggests; riders find the Greats UnInc rides wider underfoot than the waist measurement implies. Boot size is a key sizing factor.
Sizing Tip
The YES Greats UnInc rides true to size but feels larger than it measures thanks to the wider platform at the tip and tail. Use boot size as your primary guide — the width under foot is wider than the waist measurement due to the MidBite sidecut. Size down slightly if you prefer a more freestyle-oriented, nimble feel; stay true to size or size up if you want more carving power and stability at speed. Recommended boot sizes: 149 (US 7–8), 151 (US 8–10), 154 (US 8.5–10.5), 156 (US 9.5–11.5), 159 (US 11–13).
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the YES Greats UnInc and the YES Standard?
Both are Directional Volume-style all-mountain freestyle twins at a similar flex (Standard 6/10, Greats UnInc 7/10), but they serve different riding priorities. The Standard is a Directional Volume Twin with MidBite — it's optimised for all-mountain versatility, has SlamBack inserts for powder days, and uses Triax glass with Freestyle L carbon for a directional stability focus. The Greats UnInc is a symmetric Asym Twin with Asym MidBite — it's optimised for carving precision, freestyle playfulness, and riding equally well regular and switch. The Greats uses Biax glass with Air L carbon for a more forgiving and lively freestyle feel. The Standard is the better one-board quiver for variable terrain and powder readiness; the Greats is the better choice for riders who prioritise carving performance, switch riding, and park versatility. If you're not sure which suits you, call us on 03 9421 2293 or come into our Melbourne showroom.
Is the asymmetrical shape noticeable when riding?
Most riders don't consciously feel the asymmetry — that's the point. The Asym Twin design is engineered so that the board's asymmetry corrects for your body's natural asymmetry in a duck stance, making every turn feel symmetrical and natural. What you notice instead is that heel turns feel easier, more intuitive, and more controlled than you'd expect from a twin — and switch riding feels remarkably close to regular. Riders who are hesitant about asymmetrical boards consistently report that the Greats is one of the easiest boards they've ever ridden on edge.
What bindings pair well with the YES Greats UnInc?
The Greats UnInc's medium-stiff flex (7/10) and park-to-all-mountain character suit a binding with good response and a medium-to-stiff flex. From our range we'd suggest the YES. Select, Union Atlas, Nitro Team, or Burton Cartel — all strong pairings. The YES. Select is the natural brand match; the Union Atlas offers precise carving response; the Nitro Team keeps things playful. Come in or call us on 03 9421 2293 and we'll help you dial in the right setup for your riding style and budget.

About Yes Snowboards
It all began back in 2008 when Romain de Marchi (RDM) was widely regarded as the most explosive snowboarder on the planet, having successfully mastered Chad's gap and introducing big freestyle tricks into the backcountry. Jan Petter Solberg (JPS) was also pushing the boundaries of freestyle in the backcountry, while David Carrier Porcheron (DCP) was busy exploring and discovering new hits and lines across the British Columbia backcountry. These three influential figures were revolutionizing the world of snowboarding, inspiring generations of riders to come. However, their reign at the top was cut short when the 2008 global financial crisis hit, leading to the dissolution of the UnInc program they had built, and subsequently losing their board sponsor. At the time, Obama was running for president with the famous slogan "YES WE CAN", and this message resonated with the trio as they proposed the idea of building a new snowboard brand. Despite facing discouragement and skepticism from others, they were determined to make it happen. They approached the Nidecker brothers and eventually produced their first boards, which were hand-painted with the phrase "YES WE CAN." Thus Yes. Snowboards were created.
