Pint-S thoughts

I've had my new Pint-S now for a week and put about 11 klms on it so far due to a fair bit of rain. The battery is now at 62% and top speed of 16kph as I find 12-15 very comfortable and have no intention of hurting myself any sooner than I have to.
The treaded tire gives more confidence for sure off of the pavement which I do about 50%.
I like the curved foot pads as I like a wide stance and my feet feel more planted than on the Pint. The Fender is also almost a must for me now that I see the difference of gravel and dirt not covering the footpads anymore.
Twelveboard store was very helpful and friendly with the purchase as well.

Burton step on bindings

These were great to use. Forget about ratchets and spend more time going down hill rather than down on your bum tightening your bindings.

Travel ready Split /Resort binding

Easily modifiable to fit Alpine Prime bindings along with a Quiver Connector means I have a premium split/resort Straightline binding ready to rip on my travels

The EVA footbed can be modified to fit Alpine Prime bindings so now my Straightline bindings can be used with a Quiver Connector to only take one set of bindings with my resort and splitboard overseas.

Epic glove with super comfort

Great quality product. Liners are amazing. Recommend using beeswax on leather palm to keep it waterproof. Holds up in wet weather

FlightRisk FR333X Off Road Electric Bike | Series VI

1500W. Plushest Ride in the Fleet.

The FR333X Off Road is a 1500W full-suspension fat tyre electric bike built for private property and off-road riding, set up for comfort and easy handling rather than outright attack. App-controlled power across 250W, 500W and full off-road output, a 48V 25Ah Samsung battery good for up to 80km, DNM suspension front and rear, and four-piston Tektro hydraulics. It is not road legal, and it was never meant to be.

FlightRisk calls this one the Easy Rider and it earns the name. Same Series VI platform and the same 1500W motor as the rest of the X range, but tuned around the ride: the plushest suspension setup in the fleet, an upgraded comfort seat and adjustable bars, with 180kg of capacity that takes a second rider or a rear child seat. It has become a favourite with surfers for the board-and-beach run, because a bike that floats over soft sand and corrugated access tracks beats one that fights you on them.

Twelve Board Store is an authorised FlightRisk dealer in Melbourne. We hold spares in Richmond, we build and safety-check every bike before it leaves, and we will tell you straight whether this is the right version for how you actually ride.

How Far Does the FR333X Actually Go?

FlightRisk rates it at up to 80km. That number comes from Eco on flat ground with a light rider. Ride it the way you bought it for — full off-road output on sand, hills or trail — and you will see a fraction of that, because 1500W draws hard. The honest version: the 48V 25Ah pack is one of the biggest in the category, so range is rarely what ends the ride. Heading somewhere remote? Ride out in Eco and keep Boost for the way home. Range moves with rider weight, terrain, power mode, tyre pressure, wind and temperature.

Why Surfers Keep Buying This One

The board-and-beach run is the job this bike has quietly become known for. Soft sand, gravel car park tracks and corrugated access roads are exactly where a rigid rear end punishes you and where full DNM suspension earns its money. Add fat Vee Huntsman tyres that float rather than dig, 1500W to get you moving with a board on, and 180kg of capacity for the gear, and it makes sense. Pair it with a surf rack and you have a genuine car replacement for the morning check. Just make sure the track you are riding is private property or genuinely off-road.

FR333X or FR555X? Same Specs, Different Bike

On paper these two are identical: same 1500W motor, same 48V 25Ah battery, same DNM suspension, same four-piston Tektro brakes, same 80km range, same price. The difference is what each is set up to do.

FR333X (this bike) is the Easy Rider. Comfort first, easiest handling in the range, the plushest suspension feel. Best if you want a relaxed ride, you are carrying a passenger or child seat regularly, or you are doing the beach run.

FR555X is the all-rounder, pitched harder at adventure riding and carrying capacity over distance.

Honestly? Most riders will be happy on either. If you are torn, come in and sit on both — it is a feel decision, not a spec one, and that is exactly the sort of thing a showroom is for. Call us on 03 9421 2293.

Is the FR333X Off Road Legal in Australia?

No, and we are not going to dress it up. For an e-bike to be treated as a bicycle in Australia it needs a maximum continuous rated output of 250W with assistance cutting off at 25km/h. At 1500W the off-road FR333X is far past that, which means no public roads, no bike lanes, no shared paths, anywhere in the country. It is sold for private property and off-road use.

NSW riders. FlightRisk advises that from March 2029, only e-bikes compliant with EN15194 will be able to be lawfully used on roads and road related areas in New South Wales. This bike is not EN15194 compliant. If you are in NSW and want something you can still ride on roads and paths after that date, buy the street legal FR333X.

The bike carries UL2849 certification and the battery UL2271. Those cover electrical and fire safety — how the bike is built, not where you can ride it. The two get confused constantly. Always check the rules with your state road authority before you ride.

Why the Tracking Matters on a Bike This Expensive

The FR Escape App is the thing no other brand in this category has. Live 4G tracking, geofencing, remote disable, smart unlock and ride replay, all from your phone, with the first year included. On a $4,000 bike that is not a gimmick. It is the difference between filing a police report and watching your bike move across a map while you call them. If the bike leaves the shed, you will know about it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I ride the FR333X Off Road on roads or bike paths?

No. At 1500W it is well past the 250W limit that lets an e-bike be treated as a bicycle in Australia, so it cannot be ridden on public roads, bike lanes or shared paths in any state. It is for private property, rural land and closed off-road trails. If you want a FlightRisk for public roads, buy the street legal FR333X.

What is the difference between the FR333X Off Road and Street Legal?

Motor output and legal status. Off Road runs 1500W with app-adjustable speed restrictions and is not EN15194 compliant. Street Legal is EN15194 certified, capped at 25km/h with a 6km/h walk-assist throttle, and can be ridden on roads and paths. Frame, DNM suspension, four-piston brakes, 48V 25Ah battery and the app are the same on both.

What is the difference between the FR333X and the FR555X?

Setup and intent, not specs. Both run the same 1500W motor, 48V 25Ah battery, DNM suspension, four-piston Tektro brakes and 80km range at the same price. The FR333X is the Easy Rider: comfort-focused, easiest handling, plushest ride, and the one surfers and passenger-carriers tend to pick. The FR555X is pitched at adventure riding and capacity. It is a feel decision, so ride both if you can.

Can I just turn the power down to 250W and ride it legally?

No. A bike's legal classification comes from how it is built and certified, not which mode it happens to be in. The app lets you select 250W, 500W or off-road output, but the off-road FR333X is not certified as a road-legal e-bike and dialling it down does not change that. If you want road use, buy the street legal version.

Can it carry a passenger or a child seat?

It is rated to 180kg total with room for a second rider or a rear child seat. On private property how you load it is your call and your risk assessment. Passenger rules on public roads are not relevant here, because this bike does not belong on public roads.

How far will it go on one charge?

Up to 80km from the 48V 25Ah Samsung battery, measured in Eco on flat ground. In full off-road mode on sand, trail or hills, expect considerably less. The pack is one of the biggest in the category, so for most riders range is not the limiting factor.

What is the difference between Eco and Boost?

Eco keeps assistance low for maximum range. Boost gives you more immediate power off the mark and on climbs, at the cost of battery. On sand or a steep access track Boost is what you want; on a long flat run Eco will get you a lot further.

What height rider does it suit?

FlightRisk recommends riders 165cm and above. It carries 180kg total covering rider, passenger and gear. If you are shorter than that, come in and we will put you on something that fits properly.

Does it come assembled?

FlightRisk ships these 95% assembled. We finish the build and safety-check every bike in our Richmond workshop before you collect it, so it leaves us ready to ride rather than part-built in a box.

What does the warranty cover?

Two years on manufacturing faults and defects. Wear items like tyres, tubes, brake pads, bearings and discs are excluded, along with impact damage, water damage and unauthorised modification. We have a full-service workshop on site, so warranty assessment and servicing happen in Richmond instead of being freighted interstate.

Can I see one in Melbourne?

Yes. Come into Twelve Board Store in Richmond and we will walk you through the FR333X and the FR555X side by side. Call ahead on 03 9421 2293 and we will tell you what is on the floor.

About FlightRisk Electric Bikes — Melbourne's Home of the Electric Escape Vehicle

FlightRisk is an Australian e-bike brand built around a single idea: the Electric Escape Vehicle. Not a commuter appliance. Not a fitness tool. A machine with genuine motorcycle energy, bold design, and the technology to take you further and faster than anything else on two wheels at this price point. Founded in Sydney and built for riders who want personality, performance and presence in one bike, the FlightRisk FR range delivers exactly that.

The 2026 FlightRisk range at Twelve Board Store runs from the FR303 — a compact, agile fat-tyre commuter with front suspension and 60–80km range — through to the flagship FR777, a full dual-suspension, 1000W Bafang motor machine with a 52V 25Ah Samsung battery delivering up to 100km per charge. The FR333 brings a step-through dual-suspension design for riders who want comfort and range. The FR555 and FR666 are full-frame muscle bikes built for riders who want serious torque and presence. Every model is EPAC-compliant at 250W for Australian public roads, with unlock modes available for private property and off-road riding via the FR Escape App.

Every FlightRisk bike is fitted with Bafang hub motor technology, Samsung lithium-ion batteries, TEKTRO 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes with 203mm rotors, Shimano 7-speed drivetrain, fat-tyre stability, integrated LED indicators and the FR Escape App — providing real-time GPS tracking, geofencing, remote motor lock and power mode switching directly from your phone. Built-in security, connected performance, and a bike that turns heads every time you ride it.

Twelve Board Store is an authorised FlightRisk dealer and one of Melbourne's only specialist retailers to carry the full FR range with in-store demo bikes. We don't just sell FlightRisk — we ride them ourselves, assemble and safety-check every bike before delivery, and service them in-house long after the sale. Our full-time workshop handles assembly, tuning, warranty claims and ongoing servicing so you're never left without support. Every FlightRisk purchased through Twelve Board Store is backed by the full 2-year manufacturer warranty plus our own in-house after-sales care.
