Frequently Asked Questions

Cut and proportion: a shorter torso, narrower shoulders, different sleeve length, and shaping through the waist and hips. A men's jacket on a shorter torso rides up and binds at the shoulders, and men's pants cut smaller keep the wrong hip-to-waist ratio and leg length.

Australian snow is wet, heavy and dense, so 10K is a sensible floor for regular riding. If you sit in the snow, ride through rain, or want longer protection, step up to 15K or higher. Do not under-spec pants, since they take the most direct snow contact.

An insulated jacket is simpler and warm out of the box. A shell is more versatile, since you layer underneath to match the day, which suits Australia's swing from cold mornings to mild spring afternoons, and tends to breathe better for higher-output riding.

It is the most common reason outerwear gets returned. Sizing varies between brands and between technical and lifestyle cuts within one brand. Try a few on at the Richmond showroom, or call us before ordering and we will tell you where each brand sits.

Over the layers you will actually ride in, not a t-shirt. A jacket that fits over a tee will be tight over a mid-layer, and the hood must clear a helmet. For pants, check the rise so they do not gap at the back when you are strapped in and sitting.
