Ride Specter Men's Snowboard Binding 2027 | Gun Metal
Gun Metal Ride Specter 2027: Freestyle Feel in a Dark Metallic Finish.
The Gun Metal Ride Specter is a park binding for riders who want a bit of metallic edge without going full chrome. Underneath the finish it's the 2027 Specter: Ride's Mellow response freestyle snowboard binding, with park as its specialty and Ride's A-Series aluminium chassis holding it all together.
Riding it, you notice how little the binding gets in your way. The aluminium chassis bends with your board for presses and spins, the flat nylon highback keeps the lean set for freestyle, and the ankle strap's medium flex urethane frame lets you move while the soft cushion spreads the load. A canted footbed and Diecut EVA pad take care of the rattle on firm landings. Gun Metal sits between black and chrome: dark, metallic and tough looking.
The Tech and What It Does on the Hill
✅ A-Series Aluminium Chassis: light, tough and backed by Ride's lifetime chassis warranty; the aluminium moves with your board, so presses and butters feel natural
✅ Flat Nylon Highback: no forward lean block to fiddle with; Ride has set the lean angle and flex specifically for freestyle
✅ Two-Piece Ankle Strap: a medium flex urethane frame with softer cushioning that spreads pressure evenly across your boot
✅ Minimalist Toe Strap 2.0: run it over the top or across the front of the boot for a tight boot to binding connection
✅ Linkage Ratchets: no ratchet wag, and the ladders hold up longer
✅ Canted Footbed with A-Series Diecut EVA Pad: a natural knee alignment plus damping for the slap of flat landings and icy take-offs
✅ Tool-less strap removal: toe and ankle straps come off without tools
✅ Fully adjustable chassis: centre the boot heel to toe for balanced edge control
Best for: park riders and freestylers who want a mellow, lightweight snowboard binding with plenty of board feel for jumps, rails, boxes, butters and jibs.
Built for Australian Conditions
Ask anyone who rides the park at Perisher or Buller in July: some mornings the jumps are glazed ice, and by early afternoon the snow turns sticky in the sun. The Specter's soft response and damp footbed take the bite out of hard landings, and the flex lets you stay loose when it goes to slush. On a trip to Japan or Canada it's an easy pick for park days and mellow tree runs.
Setup Tips from the Shop
Centre the boot on the chassis so the toe and heel overhang match, then set the straps so the ratchets close with travel to spare. Plenty of park riders start with a duck stance and tweak the angles after a few laps; there's no forward lean block to set, so it really is mount and go. Try the toe strap over the top of the boot and across the front to see which holds you better, and check the disc screws after your first couple of days. Buy in store and we'll mount and set them up for free.
Not for you if: you need maximum edge hold for carving icy groomers at speed or you ride big freeride terrain. Browse our men's snowboard bindings and use the filters to find a firmer binding in your size.

FAQs
Which size Ride Specter fits my snowboard boots?
Ride's Medium suits US Men's 6 to 10 and the Large suits US Men's 10.5 and up. If you sit on the line, or your boots have a big outsole, call us on 03 9421 2293 or drop into 435A Bridge Rd Richmond. Our binding size charts have the full breakdown.
Who is the Ride Specter made for?
Park and freestyle riders. Ride rates it Mellow for response and lists park as its specialty, so it suits riders who spend their days on jumps, rails and side hits.
What is the A-Series aluminium chassis on the Ride Specter?
It's Ride's aluminium binding base. It's light and strong, it flexes with your board for a natural freestyle feel, and Ride backs it with a lifetime warranty.
Does the Ride Specter fit all snowboards?
It comes with a plastic mounting disc, and Ride doesn't list which insert patterns it suits. Send us your board model and we'll confirm the mount before you buy.
About Ride
Ride started out of the Seattle area in 1992 with freestyle running through everything it made, and more than three decades on it still builds snowboards, boots and bindings with the same attitude: put the effort into how the gear rides, not into marketing gimmicks. You can see it in the details we care about at the shop, like aluminium binding chassis covered by a lifetime warranty, boot outsoles made with up to 30% reground rubber, and FSC certified packaging.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
Over a decade in business. More than 1,000 reviews. The most trusted specialist board store in Melbourne. If you need advice before you buy, call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us in-store, or contact us online — we'll get you sorted.
