These Burton base layer pants are the best! Super comfy and a good fit.

I absolutely love the bike and use it nearly everyday.
I’m 67 years old but it’s a bit like going back to having dirt bikes in the mid seventies! Also 12 boards was easy to deal with. A great shop.

Adding another to my collection, best layer for 1st or 2nd layer.

Nitro Scala BOA® Women's Snowboard Boot 2025 | Black/Purple

The Scala BOA® is Nitro's go-anywhere women's all-mountain freestyle boot — built for riders who want comfort from day one and performance they can grow with across the entire mountain. Easy to handle on groomers, forgiving enough to build confidence, and responsive enough to float through powder and boost off side hits, the Scala does it all without fuss. At a 4/10 soft-medium flex, it's perfectly pitched for beginner to intermediate riders who want a boot that feels dialled and comfortable without a break-in period or a complicated fit system to figure out at the top of the chairlift. The Dual BOA® Fit System runs two independent dials — an H4 on the tongue and an M+2 on the side — for lightning-fast micro-adjustments to upper and lower zones separately. The Women's Cloud 2 Liner uses Thermacell material in Nitro-specific casts for a long-lasting, low-fatigue fit that's heat-mouldable for a fully custom feel from day one. The Re/Lace Liner Locker means mid-session tightening is a single pull away without ever undoing your boots. And the rubber outsole keeps you confident whether you're lapping runs, hiking a kicker, or walking the car park. This is the boot that makes riding more enjoyable from the very first run.

Dual BOA® Fit System
Two independent dials, two zones, total control. The H4 dial sits on the tongue and controls the upper zone — cuff tension, flex feel, and ankle support all dialled in with a single turn. The M+2 dial on the side handles the lower forefoot zone for a wrapped, secure feel across the foot. Both dials adjust independently so you can tune upper and lower tension separately for a fully customised fit, both tighten and release in seconds with gloves on, and both are covered by BOA®'s lifetime hardware guarantee. TX3 lightweight textile laces run both paths for smooth, even closure across the full boot.

Women's Cloud 2 Liner
The Cloud 2 is made from Thermacell material using Nitro-specific casts — shaped precisely for the female foot for a long-lasting, low-fatigue fit that maintains its comfort and structure throughout the season. All Nitro liners are heat-mouldable, and the Cloud 2 responds well to the process — heat mould it in-store and it conforms exactly to your foot's contours for a fully custom fit from run one rather than after days of break-in. The Women's Anatomical EVA Footbed is built into the liner, delivering cushioned ergonomic support underfoot that reduces fatigue and keeps you riding comfortably for longer.

DLS Liner Lacing + Re/Lace Liner Locker
The DLS Liner Lacing system connects directly to the liner for controlled lacing independent of the boot shell — the liner tightens and locks separately from the outer closure for a more precise, layered fit. The Re/Lace Liner Locker takes it further: once the liner laces are set at the start of the day, all you need to do is pull the liner lace tab to retighten whenever things loosen up — no undoing your boots, no removing gloves, no fuss. Your foot settles, the boot expands slightly, and the Re/Lace Liner Locker has you back to full tension in a single motion.

Rubber Outsole
A durable, grippy rubber outsole that performs confidently on snow, ice, and resort surfaces — reliable traction whether you're riding, walking the car park, or hiking a feature. Built to last across seasons of regular use without the sole degrading or losing grip in the zones that take the most wear.

Frequently Asked Questions:
What size should I order?
The Nitro Scala BOA® runs true to women's US shoe size — order your standard size. Like all snowboard boots, it should feel snug out of the box: toes lightly grazing the front of the liner when standing upright, heel locked down with minimal lift. Drop into a riding stance and the heel drops — that's the correct fit. The Dual BOA® system gives you micro-adjustable closure so you can fine-tune fit on the hill in seconds. Our full boot fit guide is at twelveboardstore.com.au/pages/snowboard-boots-how-to-choose-and-fit-guide, or call us on 03 9421 2293 and we'll help.

Do you offer professional boot fitting and heat moulding?
Yes — and it's free when you buy your boots from us. Come into the store at 435A Bridge Rd Richmond and our staff will fit you properly: measuring your foot, checking shell fit before the liner goes in, and heat moulding your Cloud 2 liner to your exact foot shape on the spot. Heat moulding isn't essential on the Cloud 2 — it already fits well straight out of the box — but doing it in-store gives you a fully custom fit from run one with zero pressure points and no break-in period. Not in Melbourne? We can walk you through the at-home process by phone or message.

What if I get the wrong size or the fit isn't right?
Reach out before you do anything else — call us on 03 9421 2293, message through the contact page, or email info@twelveboardstore.com.au. The Scala's dual BOA® dials and Re/Lace Liner Locker give meaningful fit adjustability, so many apparent fit issues can be resolved without a return. If the boot genuinely isn't right for your foot, we'll swap it. Boots must be unworn outside — lodge floors and carpet only — and returned in original condition.

Is the Scala BOA® right for my level?
The Scala BOA® at 4/10 flex is ideal for beginner to intermediate women riders — those building their confidence on the mountain and wanting a boot that's easy to use, comfortable from day one, and versatile enough to handle everything from groomed runs to powder and small features. It's forgiving enough to make learning easier and comfortable enough to wear all day without fatigue, and it will grow with you for several seasons before you outpace it. If you're an intermediate rider who is already confident across all terrain and wants more response and precision, the Crown BOA® or Fate TLS at a higher flex rating will serve you better. Not sure? Call us on 03 9421 2293 and we'll point you in the right direction.

About Snowboard Boots — Buying Guide

Snowboard boots are the most important part of your setup. They connect you to your board, affect your control, comfort, warmth and how much energy you burn across a full day on the hill. Getting the fit right is everything — a boot that fits correctly makes riding easier from your first run. A boot that doesn't will ruin your day regardless of how good the board underneath it is. At Twelve Board Store we fit hundreds of riders every season across brands including Vans, Burton, K2, Ride, ThirtyTwo and DC. Every boot in our range has been ridden and assessed by our team. We only stock boots we'd recommend to our own crew.

Getting your size right online: Measure your foot in centimetres while standing with full weight — this is your Mondo size, the most accurate way to find your boot size. Snowboard boots use US sizing. 25cm = US7, 26cm = US8, 27cm = US9, 28cm = US10, 29cm = US11, 30cm = US12. Boots should feel snug straight out of the box — toes grazing the end when standing, lifting slightly when knees bend forward. A boot that feels comfortable in your lounge room is too big for the mountain.

Volume matters as much as length: Low volume boots suit narrow, low-arch feet. High volume suits wide feet or high arches. Getting volume wrong causes pressure and pain regardless of length. If you're between sizes or have a wide foot, contact us before you buy — we'll point you to the right boot.

Flex rating: Soft (1–4) for beginners, park riders and those who want a surfy, forgiving feel. Medium (5–7) for all-mountain versatility. Stiff (8–10) for aggressive freeride, carving and riders who want direct response and maximum support.

Closure systems: Traditional lace is still the most popular — micro-adjustable, direct feel, lower price point. BOA® dial gives you one-hand precision tightening with gloves on, fast on/off between runs. Hybrid BOA combines lace at the foot with a dial at the instep for zone-by-zone control. Speed lace is faster than traditional lace and lighter than BOA.

Wrong size? We'll swap it. Not sure? Call us on 03 9421 2293 or chat online — our team will give you a straight answer based on your foot shape, riding style and where you're planning to ride. If you're in Melbourne, come in and try them on at 435A Bridge Road Richmond. We heat mould liners in-store — no appointment needed.
