Fat boy from 12 Boards

I absolutely love the bike and use it nearly everyday.
I’m 67 years old but it’s a bit like going back to having dirt bikes in the mid seventies! Also 12 boards was easy to deal with. A great shop.

Adding another to my collection, best layer for 1st or 2nd layer.

Nitro Venture Pro Lace Men's Snowboard Boot | Black | 2026

Built to Last. Built to Perform. All Day, All Season.

The Nitro Venture Pro is what happens when you take one of the most trusted all-mountain fits in snowboarding and build it indestructible. Bryan Fox — Mt Baker warrior and one of the most respected all-terrain riders in the game — calls the Venture Pro his daily driver, and that's not a marketing line. This is a boot that's earned its reputation across thousands of days in real conditions: groomed runs in the morning, tracked-out trees by afternoon, and everything in between. The Lace version pairs traditional lacing with Nitro's 45° Laceglider system for the most personalised, zone-precise fit of any closure — tighten exactly as much as you want, exactly where you want it, and lock it in for a full day's riding.

The most meaningful upgrade from the standard Venture BOA is under your foot: the Vibram® ECOSTEP™ outsole. Where the Venture BOA runs an EVA base with rubber impact panels, the Pro steps up to a full Vibram® rubber compound sole — up to 50% recycled rubber, with Vibram's proven grip, durability, and cold-weather traction. This is the outsole that riders who hike to their lines, skin in and out of ski areas, or simply want a boot that holds up to real abuse rely on. An EVA midsole sits beneath it to absorb impact and provide thermal insulation. The Flex Link Design adds a flexible panel at the ankle joint between the upper and lower shell — this prevents the shell from buckling under load and ensures an even, consistent flex throughout the boot's life without adding dead weight. The Cloud 6 liner and ILS Internal Lacing System carry over from the standard Venture: Pre-Molded Thermacell for out-of-the-box fit, heat-mouldable for a fully custom foothold, Re/Lace Liner Locker to retighten without untying, and the Latex Memory Pads that keep ankle hold consistent from first run to last. The footbed steps up to Ortholite® Dual Density — two distinct foam densities working together for zonal support and cushioning across different load zones underfoot.

Why Ride the Nitro Venture Pro Lace?
✅ Traditional Lace + 45° Lacegliders — The most personalised closure available; 45° precision-moulded inserts at the ankle dramatically reduce lace friction for fast tightening and a fully customised zone-by-zone fit
✅ Bail Out System — Pull tab on the outer shell lets you release laces in one motion for rapid boot removal at the end of the day
✅ Vibram® ECOSTEP™ Outsole — Full Vibram rubber compound made with up to 50% recycled rubber; superior grip, cold-weather traction, and outsole durability over the Venture BOA's EVA/rubber panel setup
✅ EVA Midsole — Reduces overall boot weight, absorbs landing impact, and provides thermal insulation between the outsole and footbed
✅ Flex Link Design — Flexible panel at the ankle between upper and lower shell; ensures even, consistent boot flex without buckling under load or adding bulk
✅ ILS Internal Lacing System — Dyneema®-cored harness locks liner to shell, preventing migration and bunching throughout the day
✅ Cloud 6 Liner — Pre-Molded Thermacell delivers a broken-in feel straight out of the box; heat-mouldable for a fully custom foothold
✅ Patented Re/Lace Liner Locker — Pull the lace handle to retighten the liner mid-day without loosening the outer boot; no fumbling with laces on the chairlift
✅ 3D Heel Construction — Custom-built heel pocket in the liner for positive lockdown without pressure points
✅ Latex Memory Pads — Nitro's signature ankle pads maintain consistent cushioning and support across a full season of riding
✅ Flex Toe — Pliable toe box material allows natural toe movement for better board feel and warmer feet throughout the day
✅ Ortholite® Dual Density Footbed — Two-zone foam density for targeted support and cushioning; anti-microbial, moisture-wicking, compresses less than 5% for consistent performance all season

Frequently Asked Questions

What size should I order?
The Nitro Venture Pro Lace runs true to size — order your standard US shoe size. Nitro sizes in Mondopoint (your foot length in mm), which maps directly: US 9 = Mondo 270, US 10 = Mondo 280, and so on. Snowboard boots should feel snug straight out of the box — toes lightly grazing the front of the liner when standing upright, heel locked down with minimal lift. That's not too small, that's correct. When you bend into a riding stance, your heel drops, toes pull back slightly, and the boot wraps your foot properly. If you're between sizes, use the half sizes. Our full boot fit guide is at twelveboardstore.com.au/pages/snowboard-boots-how-to-choose-and-fit-guide, or call us any time on 03 9421 2293.

Do you offer professional boot fitting and heat moulding?
Yes — and it's free when you buy your boots from us. Come into the store at 435A Bridge Rd Richmond and our staff will fit you properly: measuring your foot, checking shell fit before the liner goes in, and heat moulding your Cloud 6 liner to your exact foot shape on the spot. A moulded liner eliminates pressure points, locks in heel hold, and means the boot feels dialled from run one. Not in Melbourne? We can walk you through the at-home heat moulding process over the phone or by message — the Cloud 6's Thermacell material responds well and the process is straightforward.

What if I get the wrong size or the fit isn't right?
Reach out before you do anything else — call us on 03 9421 2293, message through the contact page, or email info@twelveboardstore.com.au. Most fit issues can be resolved without a return through lacing adjustments or a heat mould. If the boot genuinely isn't right for your foot, we'll swap it. Boots must be unworn outside — lodge floors and carpet only — and in original condition.

Venture Pro Lace vs Venture BOA — which one should I choose?
These are the same boot in terms of last, liner, and shell construction — the fit, flex character, and Cloud 6 liner are identical. The differences are meaningful though. The Venture Pro (both Lace and TLS) upgrades to a Vibram® ECOSTEP™ full-rubber outsole — substantially better grip and durability underfoot versus the standard Venture BOA's EVA/rubber panel setup. The Pro also adds the Flex Link Design at the ankle for more consistent flex, and steps up to the Ortholite® Dual Density footbed for better zonal support compared to the standard High Cup footbed. For lacing specifically: the Lace version gives you the most granular fit control of any closure — traditional laces with Lacegliders let you apply exactly the tension you want in exactly the zone you want it. BOA dials are faster and easier to adjust with gloves on; traditional lace is more precise and preferred by riders who want to lock in a very specific fit and leave it. If you ride frequently, hike to your lines, or simply want a boot that outlasts everything else in your bag, the Pro is worth the step up. Call us on 03 9421 2293 and we'll help you decide.

About Nitro
Nitro Snowboards was founded in 1990 by snowboarders, for snowboarders — now headquartered in Hünenberg, Switzerland. Nitro builds their boots from the inside out, starting with the liner and building outward, and that philosophy produces boots that consistently top fit ratings on the shop floor and on the mountain. The Venture Pro is one of Nitro's most enduring boot lines, refined continuously based on rider feedback and team testing — Bryan Fox has been calling it his daily driver for years, not because he has to, but because it's genuinely the boot that keeps up with how he rides. Nitro's sustainability commitments include eliminating PVC and harmful plasticisers, using Vibram's recycled-rubber ECOSTEP™ compound, and plastic-free packaging across their range.

About Snowboard Boots — Buying Guide

Snowboard boots are the most important part of your setup. They connect you to your board, affect your control, comfort, warmth and how much energy you burn across a full day on the hill. Getting the fit right is everything — a boot that fits correctly makes riding easier from your first run. A boot that doesn't will ruin your day regardless of how good the board underneath it is. At Twelve Board Store we fit hundreds of riders every season across brands including Vans, Burton, K2, Ride, ThirtyTwo and DC. Every boot in our range has been ridden and assessed by our team. We only stock boots we'd recommend to our own crew.

Getting your size right online: Measure your foot in centimetres while standing with full weight — this is your Mondo size, the most accurate way to find your boot size. Snowboard boots use US sizing. 25cm = US7, 26cm = US8, 27cm = US9, 28cm = US10, 29cm = US11, 30cm = US12. Boots should feel snug straight out of the box — toes grazing the end when standing, lifting slightly when knees bend forward. A boot that feels comfortable in your lounge room is too big for the mountain.

Volume matters as much as length: Low volume boots suit narrow, low-arch feet. High volume suits wide feet or high arches. Getting volume wrong causes pressure and pain regardless of length. If you're between sizes or have a wide foot, contact us before you buy — we'll point you to the right boot.

Flex rating: Soft (1–4) for beginners, park riders and those who want a surfy, forgiving feel. Medium (5–7) for all-mountain versatility. Stiff (8–10) for aggressive freeride, carving and riders who want direct response and maximum support.

Closure systems: Traditional lace is still the most popular — micro-adjustable, direct feel, lower price point. BOA® dial gives you one-hand precision tightening with gloves on, fast on/off between runs. Hybrid BOA combines lace at the foot with a dial at the instep for zone-by-zone control. Speed lace is faster than traditional lace and lighter than BOA.

Wrong size? We'll swap it. Not sure? Call us on 03 9421 2293 or chat online — our team will give you a straight answer based on your foot shape, riding style and where you're planning to ride. If you're in Melbourne, come in and try them on at 435A Bridge Road Richmond. We heat mould liners in-store — no appointment needed.
