Frequently Asked Questions

Less than the claimed figure in most real conditions. Manufacturer range is best-case, calculated with a light rider on flat ground. Melbourne hills, rider weight and cold weather all reduce it, sometimes by a third or more. Tell us your commute and we will recommend a board with genuine range to cover it.

Good ones, yes. Motor power and torque are the deciding factors, and all-terrain and dual-belt boards handle Melbourne's hills best. Tell us your terrain and we will match a board to it.

Most boards have beginner ride modes that cap speed and smooth out acceleration, so you can build confidence safely. A Onewheel has a different learning curve to a four-wheel board, so come and try both at our Richmond showroom.

Laws vary by state and territory and are different from e-bike rules. Where you can legally ride, whether private land, paths or roads, depends on where you are, and the rules do change. Check the current rules for your state, and if you are unsure how they apply to a board you are considering, ask us for the honest picture.

Our core range is Evolve, Onewheel and Onsra. Evolve is the all-terrain benchmark with swappable street and off-road wheels, Onewheel is the self-balancing single wheel, and Onsra is belt and direct-drive carve performance. We also hold remaining stock from Exway, DOT and Summerboard, so ask us about availability.

Yes. Frosty's in-house workshop services, repairs and handles warranty for the boards we sell, seven days a week from our Richmond store. That in-house support is the biggest difference between buying from a core shop and buying from a box-mover.

Yes. We keep demo boards at the Richmond showroom. For a purchase this size, we recommend it, especially to feel the difference between a four-wheel board, a Onewheel and an Onsra.

Charge with the supplied charger, store at around half charge rather than fully flat or fully charged, do not charge unattended overnight, and keep it out of extreme heat. Genuine batteries from an authorised dealer are far safer than grey imports. If a battery ever shows warning signs, bring it in rather than riding on.
