Spitfire F4 Wheels Classic Swirl | 99D/52mm
Small, light and quick: the 52mm Classic for technical street.
The 52mm Classic Swirl is Spitfire's go-to street wheel in a small, street-focused size. It keeps your board low and light, which helps for flip tricks, manuals and ledge lines, and the 99D duro is the classic street hardness.
Formula Four urethane resists flat spots, so landing primo or powersliding won't wreck the shape. The Classic profile has a medium-width riding surface with round sidewalls, so the wheels lock into grinds, slide smoothly off ledges and stay easy to control.

About Spitfire
Spitfire Wheels started in San Francisco in 1987 and is still based there today, distributed through Deluxe alongside some of the city's best-known skate brands. The flame logo has been on the bottom of street, park and bowl setups ever since.
Today Spitfire is best known for Formula Four, its performance urethane built to resist flat spots, hold its shape and slide smoothly without sticking. It comes in a wide spread of shapes and hardnesses, from soft 80HD cruisers to hard 101D park wheels, so you can match the wheel to how and where you skate. Riders choose Spitfire because the wheels are consistent from set to set and simply last.
FAQs
What are the Spitfire F4 Classic Swirl 99D 52mm wheels best for?
Technical street skating. 52mm is light and low, and 99D gives you grip to set up with a clean slide. The Classic is Spitfire's most popular shape: a medium-width riding surface with round sidewalls. It's predictable and easy to control, so it works for street, park and transition alike.
What does 99D mean?
Spitfire rates hardness on its own Duro scale, written D or DU, and doesn't publish a conversion. Retailers generally list it on the A scale, so 99D is usually listed as 99A, a hard street and park wheel. It rolls fast on smooth concrete, grips well enough to set up tricks and slides predictably. On rough footpaths you'll feel more of the cracks than on a softer wheel.
What size wheel should I get, and do I need risers?
At 52mm these are on the small side: light, quick to flip and low to the ground, which suits technical street and ledges. They fit any standard popsicle setup on regular trucks with no risers needed.
Do they come with bearings?
No. They come as a set of four wheels without bearings. Any standard 608 skate bearing fits, so you'll need a set of eight bearings, and spacers if your bearings don't have them built in.
