Powell Peralta Neil Blender Sym Dragon Wheels | 56mm/88a
Neil Blender's wide, soft Dragon wheel for rough terrain.
This is Neil Blender's pro wheel in 56mm and 88a Dragon Formula. It's made for skaters who ride rough terrain, bumpy banks and crusty transition and want a wide, comfortable wheel that still slides.
At 56 x 40mm it has a wide ride patch for stability, with a sidecut outer face, a lock-in inner shape and a centreset bearing. Powell's 88a Dragon urethane rolls smooth over cracks and pebbles, yet slides like a harder wheel when you want it to.

About Powell Peralta
Powell Peralta was founded in 1978 by engineer George Powell and skater Stacy Peralta in Santa Barbara, California. Powell had already been baking his own urethane wheels and building his own boards since the mid 1970s, and in 1979 the pair formed the Bones Brigade, the team that included Ray "Bones" Rodriguez, Steve Caballero, Tony Hawk, Lance Mountain, Rodney Mullen, Tommy Guerrero and Mike Vallely.
Today Powell Peralta still puts a big focus on urethane research and its own wheel formulas. Dragon Formula covers street and park, while Soft Slide Formula (SSF) covers cruising, freeride and downhill. Riders pick Powell because the wheels last, roll fast and slide when you want them to, and because the brand has been part of skating for close to five decades.
FAQs
What are Neil Blender Dragon wheels best for?
Riding rough terrain. The 88a Dragon urethane cushions cracks and bad concrete, and the wide ride patch keeps them stable in transition and on banks.
What does 88a mean?
88a is the hardness on the A scale. It's the softest Dragon, much softer than a 99a street wheel, so it rides smooth. Dragon Formula is built to grip and slide like a harder wheel, so it doesn't feel sluggish.
Will 56mm wheels fit my board or do I need risers?
56mm fits most popsicle decks on mid or high trucks without risers. With low trucks or a loose setup, a 1/8" riser prevents wheel bite.
Do they come with bearings?
No. You get a set of 4 wheels with no bearings. Any standard 608 skateboard bearing fits, so you'll need a set of 8 (two per wheel), plus spacers if your bearings don't have them built in.
