Giro Jackson MIPS Helmet | Matte Stone
Giro's freeride favourite, with MIPS and a dial you can work with gloves on.
The Giro Jackson MIPS is a low-profile freeride helmet that Giro calls a team favourite, from big mountain skiers to park riders. It has a slight brim and subtle lines that sit cleanly with Giro goggles. This one comes in Matte Stone.
A tough hard shell is paired with an In-Mold polycarbonate lower wrap to keep weight down, around 400g in a medium. Integrated MIPS combines the slip plane with the fit system to help reduce rotational forces in certain impacts. The In Form 2 dial gives up to 6cm of adjustment, and Vertical Tuning lets you set the cradle height for your goggles and head shape.

Size Guide
Wrap a soft tape around your head about 2cm above your eyebrows, over the widest point at the back. Measure twice and use the bigger number. Giro says the helmet should fit with a little room when the fit system is loose. If you're between sizes, try both and pick the one that sits level and snug without pressure points once dialled in.
| Size | Head circumference |
|---|---|
| S | 52–55.5cm |
| M | 55.5–59cm |
| L | 59–62.5cm |
| XL | 62.5–65cm |
The In Form 2 dial gives up to 6cm of adjustment, so you can fine-tune the fit with or without a thin beanie.
About Giro
Jim Gentes founded Giro in 1985 near Santa Cruz, California, and his Prolight bike helmet (1986) set a new bar for light weight and ventilation. Four years later Greg LeMond won the 1989 Tour de France by eight seconds wearing Giro's Aerohead. The brand took that thinking to the mountain with the vented Nine snow helmet in 1999, and goggles followed in the early 2000s.
Today Giro is known for helmets and goggles designed together, so the fit at your forehead is clean and the Stack Vent pulls warm air off your lens. From the kids' Crue to the freeride Jackson, riders choose Giro for fit systems that actually work with gloves on and MIPS across the range.
FAQs
What certifications does the Giro Jackson MIPS have?
The Jackson MIPS is certified to CE EN 1077, the European standard for ski and snowboard helmets. It's a snow helmet only; Giro does not list a bike or skate certification for it.
What size Giro Jackson MIPS should I get?
Measure around your head about 2cm above your eyebrows and match it to the chart: S 52–55.5cm, M 55.5–59cm, L 59–62.5cm, XL 62.5–65cm. Between sizes, try both with the dial loosened and pick the one that sits level without pressure points.
How does Passive Aggressive Venting work?
It's Giro's discreet vent design on the outside, paired with channels inside the helmet. Together they manage airflow and temperature whether you're riding, hiking or standing at the top of a run. The Stack Vent at the front lines up with your goggle's top vent to pull warm air off the lens.
Does the Jackson MIPS work with my goggles?
It's designed for Seamless Compatibility with Giro goggles, and Vertical Tuning lets you adjust the cradle height so different goggles sit flush. Most medium and large frame goggles from other brands also fit well, but bring yours in-store to check for a gap.
When should I replace my helmet?
Replace it after any significant impact, even if you can't see damage. The EPS foam liner crushes to absorb a hit and doesn't recover, so it won't protect you the same way twice. Also replace it if the shell is cracked, the liner is dented or the straps and buckle are worn.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
Over a decade in business. More than 1,000 reviews. The most trusted specialist board store in Melbourne. If you need advice before you buy, call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us in-store, or contact us online — we'll get you sorted.
