I've had my new Pint-S now for a week and put about 11 klms on it so far due to a fair bit of rain. The battery is now at 62% and top speed of 16kph as I find 12-15 very comfortable and have no intention of hurting myself any sooner than I have to.
The treaded tire gives more confidence for sure off of the pavement which I do about 50%.
I like the curved foot pads as I like a wide stance and my feet feel more planted than on the Pint. The Fender is also almost a must for me now that I see the difference of gravel and dirt not covering the footpads anymore.
Twelveboard store was very helpful and friendly with the purchase as well.

Burton's classic day pack: board carry for the mountain, laptop sleeve for the week.

The Burton Day Hiker 22L Pack 2026 is the pack Burton built for powder days, work days and everything in between, here in Soft Sage. It's compact enough for the commute and set up properly for a day on the hill.

Burton builds it from bluesign approved 250D, 420D and 600D fabrics (the mix varies by colourway) with a PFC-free C0 DWR finish and PU backing. A removable board carry system holds your snowboard, a fleece-lined pocket protects your goggles, and the laptop sleeve doubles as a hydration sleeve. Ventilated ergonomic shoulder straps, an air mesh back panel with airflow zones, a sternum strap and a removable hip belt keep it stable and comfortable when it's loaded up.

FAQs

Will the Burton Day Hiker 22L carry my snowboard?
Yes. It has a removable board carry system for strapping your snowboard to the pack for a hike or walk from the car park. When you don't need it, take it off for a cleaner look around town.

Does it fit a laptop or a hydration bladder?
Yes, both. The laptop sleeve is hydration compatible, so it holds a laptop or tablet during the week or a water reservoir on the mountain. A reservoir isn't included, and Burton doesn't publish the sleeve size, so check your laptop fits if it's a larger model.

Is it big enough for a full day on the mountain?
For most resort days, yes. At 22L there's room for a spare layer, food, water, goggles and small essentials. If you carry avalanche gear or extra layers for touring, step up to a larger pack, as Burton doesn't list a dedicated avalanche tool pocket on this one.

Is the Day Hiker waterproof?
It's water-repellent, not waterproof. Burton uses a PFC-free C0 DWR finish with PU backing, which handles snow and light rain, but keep electronics in a dry bag if it's pouring.

How do I clean it?
Burton doesn't publish care instructions for this pack. Empty it, brush off dirt, then spot clean with mild soap and cool water and hang it open to air dry. Skip the washing machine and dryer so the coatings last.

Jake Burton Carpenter started Burton in 1977 out of his Vermont barn, with one goal: to make the best snowboarding equipment in the world. In 1981 he moved the company from Londonderry to a farm in Manchester, Vermont, where the barn became the factory.

Today Burton is headquartered in Burlington, Vermont, home to its research and development hub, Craig's Prototype Facility. It's privately held, owned by Donna Carpenter, and a certified B Corporation.

Step On locks your boot to the binding at three points: two toe cleats hook into the toe of the binding and one heel cleat clips into the heelcup. Step in, hear it click and ride. To get out, pull up the lever on the heelcup and lift your heel with a slight twist.

Burton started the project in the early 2010s, after Jake asked for a boot and binding system that was easier to learn, and spent about five years on development and rider testing.

Step On boots only work with Step On bindings, so they're bought as a pair. The bindings use Re:Flex, so they mount on Channel and 2x4 boards, and on 3D boards with the 3D disc.

[ak] is named after Alaska, where its story starts. Burton says team riders Craig Kelly and Dave Downing logged nearly 200 backcountry days in 1996, and the first piece, the Tri-Lite [ak] Convertible Jacket, appeared in Burton's 1997 catalogue.

Re:Flex is Burton's binding mounting system. It improves board flex and feel while cutting weight, and it works with all current board mounting systems. Burton boards made before 2014 with the 3D pattern need the 3D Hinge Disc, sold separately.

What size Burton board, boots or bindings do I need?
Start with your weight and boot size, then how you ride. Our Burton size guides cover boards, boots, bindings and outerwear. Easier still, come in or call and we'll size you up.
What's the difference between Camber, Flying V and PurePop Camber?
Camber gives strong turns, precise pop and even edge control from nose to tail. Flying V puts rocker outside your feet and camber underfoot, so it feels playful but still pops and turns hard. PurePop Camber adds subtle flat zones to amplify pop and add playfulness. Our camber guide goes deeper.
Will Burton bindings fit my board?
Burton Re:Flex bindings work with all current board mounting systems, including The Channel and 2x4. Older Burton boards with the 3D pattern, made before 2014, need the 3D Hinge Disc, sold separately. Tell us your board and we'll confirm before you buy.
Do I need special boots for Step On?
Yes. Step On boots and Step On bindings only work with each other, so you buy them as a pair. The bindings mount on any current board, Burton or not.
Can I pick up in store or return it?
