Fat boy from 12 Boards

I absolutely love the bike and use it nearly everyday.
I’m 67 years old but it’s a bit like going back to having dirt bikes in the mid seventies! Also 12 boards was easy to deal with. A great shop.

Adding another to my collection, best layer for 1st or 2nd layer.

YES PYL Pro DCP Snowboard | 2027

Pick Your Line. No Compromise.

The YES PYL Pro DCP 2027 is the ultimate expression of freeride precision. Designed in collaboration with DCP — David Carrier Porcheron, YES co-founder and one of snowboarding's most respected big mountain riders — this board takes the legendary PYL platform and turns the dial to maximum. It's built for chasing powder, committing to steep lines, and riding hard without hesitation. Stable. Responsive. Practically unsinkable.

Starting from the standard PYL, YES made three targeted upgrades. The Surge Core adds bamboo struts to the Poplar/Paulownia construction for increased stiffness, better dampening through chop and variable snow, and more responsive energy transfer underfoot. Air V Carbon Reinforcement places V-shaped biaxial aerospace carbon stringers from the front insert pack to the nose contact points, stiffening the nose, increasing torsional response, and delivering stability at high speed — particularly when floating through powder and landing big drops. CoreLess Tail technology removes material from the rear section of the board, replicating the surfy, sinking feel of a swallowtail without sacrificing switch capability, pop, or landing stability. The tail sinks more naturally in powder and releases with a slashy, fluid feel, while remaining structurally sound for hard landings.

CamRock 1-4-1 keeps the majority of the profile as camber underfoot — powerful, direct, and precise — with subtle rocker in the nose and tail for float and forgiveness. Tapered UnderBite delivers dependable edge hold in firm or variable snow without the washout issues of a traditional tapered shape. Forever Flex manufacturing stabilises the flex and rocker profile for the board's lifetime.

Why Ride the YES PYL Pro DCP?
✅ Directional Shape + CoreLess Tail – Surfy freeride feel with maintained switch versatility, pop, and landing stability
✅ CamRock 1-4-1 – Dominant camber underfoot for power and precision; subtle rocker in nose and tail for float
✅ Tapered UnderBite Outline – Triple-radius sidecut for edge hold, float, and surfy tail release without washout
✅ Surge Core – 50% Poplar / 50% Paulownia with 2 center bamboo struts for stiffness, dampening, and response
✅ Triax Fibreglass – Three-direction weave for torsional stiffness and stability at speed
✅ Air V Carbon Reinforcement – V-shaped aerospace carbon from front inserts to nose for nose stiffness and high-speed stability
✅ Sintered Base – Fast, wax-absorbent, and built to maintain speed in all conditions
✅ Forever Flex – Manufacturing process that stabilises flex and rocker profile for the board's lifetime
✅ 12-Pack Inserts – Directional stance tuning for freeride precision

CoreLess Tail Technology
CoreLess Tail removes material from a softball-sized area at the rear of the board. This reduces swing weight for a more nimble, surfy feel and allows the tail to sink more naturally in powder — replicating the release and flow of a swallowtail design — while maintaining the torsional stiffness the board needs for edge hold in committed freeride terrain. Switch riding capability, ollie pop, and landing stability are preserved. The result is a freeride board that flows more like a surfboard when the conditions allow, without compromising the structural performance needed when they don't.

Board Specs

Size Waist Width (cm) Sidecut (m) Taper (mm) Rider Weight (kg) Rider Weight (lbs)
155 26.0 7.6 / 6.6 / 5.6 15 58–85 127–187
157 26.1 7.8 / 6.8 / 5.8 15 63–90 138–198
159 26.2 8.0 / 7.0 / 6.0 15 63–90 138–198
161 26.3 8.2 / 7.2 / 6.2 15 68–95 149–209

The three sidecut radii are the Tapered UnderBite triple-radius values — each progressively tighter toward the tail to create the corrective hook that prevents washout. The 15mm taper is significantly more aggressive than the standard PYL (5–6mm), contributing to the surfy, directional feel in powder.

Sizing Tip
The YES PYL Pro is designed to be ridden at your regular freeride length. The aggressive taper, 10mm setback, and CoreLess Tail deliver directional float without needing extra length. Most riders choose their standard freeride size; experienced big mountain riders often size up one step for maximum stability and float on longer, faster lines. If you prioritise technical terrain, trees, and tight manoeuvrability, stay true to size.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the YES PYL and the YES PYL Pro DCP?
The standard PYL and the PYL Pro DCP share the same Directional shape, Tapered UnderBite outline, CamRock profile, and Triax glass. The Pro DCP adds three upgrades: the Surge Core (Poplar/Paulownia with bamboo struts) for a stiffer, more damped flex vs the PYL's Fluid Core; Air V Carbon Reinforcement for additional nose stiffness and torsional response; and CoreLess Tail technology for a surfy, sinking tail feel in powder. The result is a board that's noticeably stiffer (8/10 vs 6/10), faster and more planted at speed, and significantly more powder-specific in its feel. The standard PYL is the more versatile everyday board; the PYL Pro DCP is the specialist tool for committed freeride and big mountain terrain.

Is the CoreLess Tail actually weaker or more fragile?
Not in practice — it's a common question. YES removes material from the tail strategically while maintaining the torsional stiffness needed for hard riding through the reinforcement and glass layup. The board is designed to handle big drops, hard landings, and aggressive terrain without structural compromise. The coreless area is in the tip of the tail beyond the structural zone, similar in concept to how swallowtail powder boards work. That said, the PYL Pro is absolutely a high-performance freeride tool and should be treated as one — it's not designed for heavy jibbing or repeated slam landings on rails.

What bindings work best with the YES PYL Pro DCP?
The PYL Pro's 8/10 stiff flex and big mountain freeride character work best with a medium-to-stiff binding that can match its power and stability. From our range we'd suggest the Jones Mercury, Burton Malavita, YES. Select, or Nitro Phantom — all well-suited for an aggressive freeride platform. A stiffer binding transfers power more directly and keeps the board responsive at speed; riders who want to keep some playfulness can pair it with the YES. Select or a medium-flex freeride binding. Call us on 03 9421 2293 or visit the Melbourne showroom and we'll help you put together the right setup for your riding.

About Yes Snowboards

It all began back in 2008 when Romain de Marchi (RDM) was widely regarded as the most explosive snowboarder on the planet, having successfully mastered Chad's gap and introducing big freestyle tricks into the backcountry. Jan Petter Solberg (JPS) was also pushing the boundaries of freestyle in the backcountry, while David Carrier Porcheron (DCP) was busy exploring and discovering new hits and lines across the British Columbia backcountry. These three influential figures were revolutionizing the world of snowboarding, inspiring generations of riders to come. However, their reign at the top was cut short when the 2008 global financial crisis hit, leading to the dissolution of the UnInc program they had built, and subsequently losing their board sponsor. At the time, Obama was running for president with the famous slogan "YES WE CAN", and this message resonated with the trio as they proposed the idea of building a new snowboard brand. Despite facing discouragement and skepticism from others, they were determined to make it happen. They approached the Nidecker brothers and eventually produced their first boards, which were hand-painted with the phrase "YES WE CAN." Thus Yes. Snowboards were created.
