K2 Program Snowboard Binding 2027 | Dopamine Storm Cycle
Stiff, Sharp and Built to Send. The Dopamine Program.
Here's the binding we hand to riders who tell us their current setup feels sloppy. The K2 Program is K2's freeride and all-mountain performance binding, 9/10 on their flex scale, and for 2027 it lands in the Dopamine Collection: Sage Kotsenburg's capsule for riders who want to feel something on every run. It comes in one colourway only, Storm Cycle, storm grey with flashes of red, and it looks the part on any board in the shop.
Strap in and you notice the difference straight away. The FR1 highback is asymmetric and stiff, so the second you lean onto your heels the board is already turning, and it doesn't fold when the groomer turns to ice. The DD1 ankle strap pairs a soft inner layer with a stiff outer shell: comfortable against your boot all day, firm when you need to drive the edge. The Module Chassis is the clever bit. It's stiff where response matters but still lets your board flex underneath you, so you get precision without killing the ride. Hours later you're still charging, and your feet still feel fine.
The Tech and What It Does on the Hill
✅ FR1 Highback: asymmetric, freeride-tuned and stiff. Instant heelside pressure, more grip on hardpack, more confidence at speed
✅ DD1 Ankle Strap: dual density with a soft inner and a rigid outer, so you get power to the edge without the ankle pinch
✅ Module Chassis: 50% glass-filled nylon blended with castor-bean based materials. Response where it counts, natural board flex everywhere else, and K2 uses the plant-based blend to cut the binding's carbon footprint
✅ MultiMount ankle strap positions: move the strap to suit your boot size and the way you like to ride
✅ BetterWrap Toe Strap: dual density and flexible, so it hugs any toe box without pinching
✅ Harshmellow pods in a Sugarcane EVA footbed: soaks up flat landings and chatter so your knees and feet last until the last chair
✅ This Grips! basepad with 3° canting: boot stays planted, knees stay in a natural line
✅ Aluminium fixed-pivot ratchets: quick, positive, no slipping when it's minus ten on the lift
✅ Toolless forward lean 0° to 7° plus a forward lean block: crank in more response mid-run, no tools needed
Best for: advanced to expert riders after a stiff, responsive freeride snowboard binding for carving, big mountain days and fast all-mountain laps, with a bit of Dopamine Collection flavour.
Built for Australian Conditions
Australian resorts serve up a bit of everything in one day: firm, scraped groomers first thing at Thredbo, Perisher or Hotham, slush by lunch, then refrozen chop on the last chair. That's exactly where a stiff binding earns its keep. The Program keeps your edge locked when the corduroy turns to ice, and when you take it to Japan or Canada for the deep stuff, the response is there to drive through heavy pow and tree lines without washing out.
Setup Tips from the Shop
Start with the forward lean in the middle of the range and ride a few laps. If you want more bite on hardpack and carves, add lean or drop in the forward lean block; for soft snow and a looser feel, back it off. Centre the heelcup so your boot sits evenly over the board, and use the MultiMount positions to get the ankle strap sitting square across your boot. We'll set it up for free when you buy in store.
Not for you if: you're in your first few seasons or you live in the park. The 9/10 flex will feel like hard work. You want a softer, more forgiving freestyle binding: browse our men's snowboard bindings and use the filters to find a softer, park-focused binding in your size.

FAQs
What is the K2 Dopamine Collection?
It's Sage Kotsenburg's capsule with K2 for 2027: gear for the rider who treats the whole mountain like a playground, from park laps to pow stashes to wide-open groomers at speed. The Program is the binding in the line-up, built to match that whole-mountain, chase-the-feeling mindset.
What size K2 Program binding do I need?
K2's chart puts the Medium at US Men's 6 to 10 and the Large at US Men's 10 to 15. If you're a size 10, or your boots have a big outsole, bring them into the shop at 435A Bridge Rd Richmond and we'll strap you in on the wall, or call us on 03 9421 2293. Our binding size charts cover every brand we stock.
How stiff is the K2 Program?
It sits at 9/10 on K2's flex scale, the stiffest of the K2 bindings we carry this season. Think locked-in and instant, not loose and buttery.
Can I ride park in the Program?
You can, but it's not a jib binding. If your days are mostly rails and butters, a softer freestyle binding will be more fun. If you ride the whole mountain hard and hit the jump line on the way down, the Program will love it.
Will the K2 Program fit my snowboard?
It runs K2's Multi-Compatible Disc on the Module Chassis. Send us your board model or bring it in and we'll confirm the mount before you buy.
About K2
K2 started in Washington State in 1962 and has been a fixture of American snowboarding ever since, with a freeride streak running through the whole range. Their bindings are some of the best-engineered on our wall, and they're putting the work in on sustainability too, with solar power in production and bindings boxed in recyclable, mostly recycled cardboard instead of plastic.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
