Jones Stratos Splitboard | 2027

The Energetic, Ride-Anything Splitboard

The Jones Stratos Splitboard 2027 is an all-conditions, all-terrain split built for ripping turns, slashing gullies, and boosting airs in the backcountry. A tapered directional freeride shape matched with an energetic freestyle board feel makes the Stratos Split incredibly versatile and agile in powder or mixed conditions — ready to carve turns on hardpack, bash through crust with confidence, and float down pow lines with authority.

The camber-dominant Directional Rocker profile delivers more nose rocker than tail, with camber running from the front binding through the tail for powerful edge hold and precision exactly where you need it. The 3D Contour Base 3.0 features 7mm of spoon bevel in the nose and graduated tail bevel starting at the rocker point — tuned specifically for freeride float and fast, fluid turn initiation. In & Out Traction Tech 3.0 treats both the inside and outside edges, providing grip on firm descents and also improving purchase on icy skin tracks — a meaningful advantage over snowboard-only Traction Tech setups.

The Ultra Split Core is a splitboard-specific lightweight dual-density core built for durability and turn power. Power Sustainable Basalt Stringers made from 100% natural fibres improve torsional response and transfer energy from underfoot to the tips, eliminating nose and tail chatter in variable backcountry terrain. The Textured ECO-Plastic Topsheet is bio-plastic from Castor beans — ultralight, chip and scratch resistant, and naturally snow-repellent. Stainless steel reinforcement in the nose and tail protects against impact damage. Karakoram Ultra Clips 2.0 with the Boltless Bridge deliver a tight, torsionally stiff board connection, while the notched tail is designed to fit the Quick Tension Tail Clip for Jones skins.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the Stratos Split and the Solution Split?
The Stratos is the more playful, energetic option — a directional freeride shape blended with a freestyle board feel, mid-stiff flex (7/10), Power Sustainable Basalt Stringers, and a character that rewards creative all-terrain riding including jumps, slashes, and natural features in the backcountry. The Solution is the more committed freeride tool — stiffer (8/10), more tapered (12.5mm vs 10mm), Triax Fiberglass instead of Biax, and tuned specifically for charging steep technical lines at speed. If you ride with a mix of freestyle flow and freeride intent, the Stratos. If you're primarily focused on steep, committing backcountry descents at speed, the Solution.

What do I need to buy separately to complete the splitboard setup?
The Stratos Splitboard comes with the Karakoram Ultra Clips 2.0 hardware but splitboard bindings and climbing skins are sold separately. Splitboard bindings are not interchangeable with regular snowboard bindings. Jones makes pre-cut Nomad and Nomad Pro skins laser-cut to match the Stratos' Traction Tech edge contours — they attach to the notched tail with the Quick Tension Tail Clip and are ready to use straight from the box. Come in or call us on 03 9421 2293 and we'll put together a complete touring setup for you.

Is the Stratos Split suitable for riders new to splitboarding?
Yes — more so than the Solution. The mid-stiff flex (7/10) and directional rocker profile are more forgiving than the Solution's stiffer setup, and the energetic, playful character makes it easier to manage at varying speeds. If you're an experienced resort rider making the transition to backcountry and want a split that still feels lively and fun, the Stratos is an excellent starting point. For riders who are completely new to snowboarding or splitboarding, it's worth coming in to talk through gear and safety requirements before heading out — call us on 03 9421 2293.

ABOUT JONES SNOWBOARDS - 2027 RANGE

ones Snowboards was founded by pro snowboarder Jeremy Jones with one goal: build the best snowboards on the planet while treading as lightly as possible on the mountains he rides. Every board in the 2027 range reflects that — obsessive attention to shape, materials and performance, with sustainability built in from day one through Bio Resin epoxy, oversize recycled German steel edges, recycled ABS sidewalls and FSC-certified wood cores.

The 2027 Jones range at Twelve Board Store includes the Flagship Pro, Flagship, Stratos, Frontier 2.0, Hovercraft 2.0, Twin Craft, Mind Expander 2.0, Freecarver 9000s, Twin Sister and Flagship Women's — covering everything from elite big mountain freeride to all-mountain and freestyle performance. Every board runs Jones's signature 3D Contour Base 3.0 technology — a spoon-bevelled base that eliminates suction in nose and tail for immediate float and release in any snow condition.
