Apres and Work - Good Boots

Been running the MTE boots for years lift ops and maintenance, better than Sorrels now that they've got a zip side!

Quality base layer

These Burton base layer pants are the best! Super comfy and a good fit.

Nice sized day pack for short trips and staying light. Can't wait to get up in the mountains to use it.

Karakoram prime connect s binding Twelve edition

Been able to fit them to my new Jones splitboard now that it has arrived. Bindings look great, attachment was easy. Cannot wait to try them out. Just need some new skins!

Fat boy from 12 Boards

I absolutely love the bike and use it nearly everyday.
I’m 67 years old but it’s a bit like going back to having dirt bikes in the mid seventies! Also 12 boards was easy to deal with. A great shop.

Adding another to my collection, best layer for 1st or 2nd layer.

Bent Metal Transfer Men's Snowboard Binding 2026 | Red

Seriously Underrated

These bindings are seriously Underrated, and Bent Metal are now gonna be my go-to bindings for the next few seasons.

I've been riding for 3 decades, and most recently have had Burton Vita's and Cartels, Now's, Joneses, Union Ultras, Nitro Phantoms and Team Pros, Rome Katanas and other stuff I have lost track of.

These Bent Metals have the response and support of a stiffer binding, the dampening to rival my Nitro Phantoms (with that fancy air injected foam and airbag in the heel) and yet are better straps and dampening WITH control, than my Union Ultras - which now, I will be selling.

And they also allow me to move around on board, for when I want to get surfy carvy.

They were not wrong when they said you get dampening AND underfoot feel - with most bindings, you lose one as you gain the other.

You also get the mini disc for microscopic, millimetre perfect stance adjustment.

The straps are super comfy and conform nicely around my boot, crating no pressure points, and the dampening allows my clapped out feet to ride for just that little bit longer, compared to the rest of my binding quiver.

For anyone thinking of these as an outlier potential options to your standard Union Forces or Rome Katanas or Burton Cartels - these are better in many, many ways.

Take the risk, and get yourself a pair!

Men's Burton Waverange X Step On® Snowboard Boots

Dial in your fit and get after it.

The Waverange X Step On® boots are built for riders who want surfy maneuverability and a fluid range of motion without sacrificing performance. With all-around playful flex, total control from Dual-Zone BOA® lacing, and the effortless ease of Step On®, these boots hit that happy medium between freestyle fun and all-mountain capability.

Why You Want Them

If you're after a boot that rides surfy and loose but still locks you in with precision fit and strapless convenience, the Waverange X Step On® is your match. A true step-on-and-go boot for any condition on the mountain.

Frequently Asked Questions:
What size should I order?
Burton Waverange X Step On® boots run true to size — order your standard men's US shoe size. As with all snowboard boots, they should feel noticeably snug out of the box: toes lightly brushing the front of the liner when standing upright, heel sitting down with minimal lift. That's the correct fit. Once you drop into a riding stance, your heel locks down and your toes pull back from the liner — the boot wraps your foot properly. A boot that feels roomy in the shop will be sloppy on the mountain within an hour. If you're between sizes, go half a size down. The Dual-Zone BOA® also gives you the ability to fine-tune upper and lower tension independently, so you can really dial in the fit once you're in the right shell size. Our full boot fit guide is at twelveboardstore.com.au/pages/snowboard-boots-how-to-choose-and-fit-guide, or call us on 03 9421 2293 and we'll sort you out.

Do you offer professional boot fitting and heat moulding?
Yes — and it's free when you buy your boots from us. Come into the store at 435A Bridge Rd Richmond and our team will check your shell fit, measure your foot, and heat mould your Imprint™ 3 Liner to your exact foot shape on the spot. The Imprint™ 3 uses heat-mouldable construction that conforms to your foot's specific contours, eliminating pressure points and locking in your heel so the boot feels dialled from run one. Not in Melbourne? We can walk you through the at-home heat moulding process over the phone or by message — it's straightforward and the liner responds well.

What if I get the wrong size or the fit isn't right?
Get in touch before you do anything else — call us on 03 9421 2293, message through the contact page, or email info@twelveboardstore.com.au. The Dual-Zone BOA® gives you independent upper and lower tension control, so many fit issues can be dialled out with a simple adjustment or a heat mould session. If the boot genuinely isn't right for your foot, we'll swap it. Boots must be unworn outside — lodge floors and carpet only — and returned in original condition.

Is the Waverange X Step On® right for me, or should I look at something different?
The Waverange X Step On® sits in the soft-to-medium flex range and is built for riders who want a surfy, playful feel with the convenience of Step On® entry. It's a great all-mountain boot for beginner-to-intermediate through to intermediate-advanced riders who prioritise fluid movement and easy-going ride feel over maximum stiffness and precision. If you're just starting out and want something very forgiving, a softer boot may suit you better. If you're an advanced rider chasing aggressive carving performance or charging serious lines, you might want to look at something with more flex and support. Not sure? Call us on 03 9421 2293 and we'll give you an honest steer on whether the Waverange X is the right match for where your riding is at right now.

Do I need specific bindings for these boots?
Yes — the Waverange X Step On® boots are only compatible with Burton Step On® bindings. They will not work with traditional strap bindings. If you don't already have Step On® bindings, we stock the full Burton Step On® binding range in store and online. Give us a call on 03 9421 2293 and we can help you put together the right boot and binding combo for your setup.

About Snowboard Boots — Buying Guide

Snowboard boots are the most important part of your setup. They connect you to your board, affect your control, comfort, warmth and how much energy you burn across a full day on the hill. Getting the fit right is everything — a boot that fits correctly makes riding easier from your first run. A boot that doesn't will ruin your day regardless of how good the board underneath it is. At Twelve Board Store we fit hundreds of riders every season across brands including Vans, Burton, K2, Ride, ThirtyTwo and DC. Every boot in our range has been ridden and assessed by our team. We only stock boots we'd recommend to our own crew.

Getting your size right online: Measure your foot in centimetres while standing with full weight — this is your Mondo size, the most accurate way to find your boot size. Snowboard boots use US sizing. 25cm = US7, 26cm = US8, 27cm = US9, 28cm = US10, 29cm = US11, 30cm = US12. Boots should feel snug straight out of the box — toes grazing the end when standing, lifting slightly when knees bend forward. A boot that feels comfortable in your lounge room is too big for the mountain.

Volume matters as much as length: Low volume boots suit narrow, low-arch feet. High volume suits wide feet or high arches. Getting volume wrong causes pressure and pain regardless of length. If you're between sizes or have a wide foot, contact us before you buy — we'll point you to the right boot.

Flex rating: Soft (1–4) for beginners, park riders and those who want a surfy, forgiving feel. Medium (5–7) for all-mountain versatility. Stiff (8–10) for aggressive freeride, carving and riders who want direct response and maximum support.

Closure systems: Traditional lace is still the most popular — micro-adjustable, direct feel, lower price point. BOA® dial gives you one-hand precision tightening with gloves on, fast on/off between runs. Hybrid BOA combines lace at the foot with a dial at the instep for zone-by-zone control. Speed lace is faster than traditional lace and lighter than BOA.

Wrong size? We'll swap it. Not sure? Call us on 03 9421 2293 or chat online — our team will give you a straight answer based on your foot shape, riding style and where you're planning to ride. If you're in Melbourne, come in and try them on at 435A Bridge Road Richmond. We heat mould liners in-store — no appointment needed.
