Z-Flex Jay Adams Cruiser Blue/Metal Flake | 29.0"
Venice hot-rod sparkle on Jay Adams's classic cruiser shape.
The Jay Adams Cruiser in Blue Metal Flake is Z-Flex's classic 29" cruiser, a shape that's been a staple of the range for over a decade. The graphic carries a metallic fleck inspired by Venice Beach hot-rod culture, the custom car scene that ran alongside the Z-Boys. It's for riders of any level who want a compact, good-looking board for getting around.
It's a 7-ply deck on 5" powder-coated Z-Flex trucks with soft 90A cushions, lifted on 14mm riser blocks. Soft 63mm 83A Z-Smooth wheels soak up rough concrete, so it rolls smoothly to the shops, the station or the beach. The kicktail makes kick turns and kerbs easy, and the shape is short enough to turn quickly through crowds.

About Z-Flex
Z-Flex is one of skateboarding's original brands. It was started in 1976 by Kent Sherwood, Jay Adams's stepfather, a fibreglass craftsman who had been building boards for the Zephyr team in Dogtown, the Santa Monica and Venice Beach stretch of the California coast. When Sherwood split from Zephyr he took Jay Adams and a handful of Z-Boys with him under the name EZ-Ryder, and within six months the brand became Z-Flex.
Z-Flex lays claim to the first skateboard with a concave top and to a smoother-riding wheel that helped shape the soft wheels most riders use today. Its current range still draws straight from that history: the P.O.P, Ruins to Roses, Banana Train, Surf-a-gogo and Aragon Cheetah series all take their stories from Pacific Ocean Park and the Dogtown scene. Riders choose Z-Flex for easy-riding cruisers, longboards and surfskates with real heritage, set up to be fun from the first push.
FAQs
What is the Z-Flex Jay Adams Cruiser best for?
Cruising and short commutes. The soft 63mm Z-Smooth wheels and riser blocks make it smooth over rough footpaths, and the compact 29" shape is easy to carry and quick to turn. It's also a fun board for surf checks and car park carving.
Is a 29" cruiser the right size for me?
It suits most teens and adults who want a compact board that's still easy to stand on. At 29.5" long and 7.5" wide with a 15.75" wheelbase, the Jay Adams Cruiser is small enough to carry onto a tram but roomy enough for relaxed cruising. If you want more width for bigger feet, look at a 31" Z-Flex 80s board, and if you want something smaller for a backpack, the 27" range is the pick.
Is the Jay Adams Cruiser good for beginners?
Yes. Z-Flex designed this shape for all levels, and the soft wheels and 90A cushions make it forgiving and easy to steer. It's a simple board to learn pushing, carving and stopping on.
Cruiser vs skateboard: what's the difference?
A cruiser is built for rolling, not flip tricks. The Jay Adams Cruiser runs soft 63mm 83A Z-Smooth wheels on riser blocks, so it's smoother, quieter and grippier on rough footpaths than a street skateboard's small hard wheels. The shape is made for comfortable pushing and carving, with a kicktail for kick turns and getting up kerbs.
Can I commute on the Jay Adams Cruiser?
Yes, for short to medium trips. The soft 63mm wheels handle most footpaths and cracks, and the 29" deck is light enough to carry onto public transport. For long daily distances on rough roads, a bigger-wheeled longboard will roll further with less effort.
Does it come ready to ride?
Yes. It arrives fully assembled with griptape, trucks, wheels and bearings installed. Just check the truck tightness suits you and go ride.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
Over a decade in business. More than 1,000 reviews. The most trusted specialist board store in Melbourne. If you need advice before you buy, call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us in-store, or contact us online — we'll get you sorted.
