Z-Flex Dragon Shorebreak Cruiser | 30"
A cruiser with attitude for kerbs, parks and pools.
The Dragon Shorebreak is a more aggressive take on the Z-Flex cruiser. It rides like a cruiser but handles kerbs a bit harder, and its extra width makes it good for parks and pools too. The Dragon series graphic draws on the Serpent Rollercoaster artwork from the P.O.P pier in Venice Beach, Japanese illustration and 1980s kung-fu films. It's for riders who want a cruiser that can also skate.
The 30" x 8.5" deck is 7-ply, on 5" raw polished Z-Flex trucks with 90A cushions and 14mm risers. Soft 63mm 83A Z-Smooth wheels give a smooth roll on rough footpaths while still being fun in the park. It's a versatile, mid-size board that sits between a small cruiser and a wide pool deck.

About Z-Flex
Z-Flex is one of skateboarding's original brands. It was started in 1976 by Kent Sherwood, Jay Adams's stepfather, a fibreglass craftsman who had been building boards for the Zephyr team in Dogtown, the Santa Monica and Venice Beach stretch of the California coast. When Sherwood split from Zephyr he took Jay Adams and a handful of Z-Boys with him under the name EZ-Ryder, and within six months the brand became Z-Flex.
Z-Flex lays claim to the first skateboard with a concave top and to a smoother-riding wheel that helped shape the soft wheels most riders use today. Its current range still draws straight from that history: the P.O.P, Ruins to Roses, Banana Train, Surf-a-gogo and Aragon Cheetah series all take their stories from Pacific Ocean Park and the Dogtown scene. Riders choose Z-Flex for easy-riding cruisers, longboards and surfskates with real heritage, set up to be fun from the first push.
FAQs
What is the Z-Flex Dragon Shorebreak best for?
Cruising with a bit of skating mixed in. It's smooth and easy around town on soft 63mm wheels, but the wider 8.5" deck and tougher shape make it happy hitting kerbs, parks and pools too.
Is a 30" cruiser the right size for me?
It suits most teens and adults who want a mid-size board. At 30" long and 8.5" wide, it's roomier than the 29" cruisers but lighter and narrower than the 31" 80s boards. If you want maximum width for bowls, step up to a 9.75" Z-Flex 80s shape.
Is the Dragon Shorebreak good for beginners?
Yes. The soft wheels and 90A cushions are forgiving, and the 8.5" width gives a stable platform for learning to push, carve and ride the park.
Cruiser vs skateboard: what's the difference?
A cruiser is built for rolling, not flip tricks. The Dragon Shorebreak runs soft 63mm 83A Z-Smooth wheels on riser blocks, so it's smoother, quieter and grippier on rough footpaths than a street skateboard's small hard wheels. The shape is made for comfortable pushing and carving, with a kicktail for kick turns and getting up kerbs.
Can I commute on the Dragon Shorebreak?
Yes, for short to medium trips. The soft 63mm wheels smooth out most footpaths and the 30" deck is still easy to carry. For long daily distances, a 69mm-wheel longboard will roll further with less effort.
Does it come ready to ride?
Yes. It arrives fully assembled with griptape, trucks, wheels and bearings installed. Just check the truck tightness suits you and go ride.
