The RD Wristsaver is Triple Eight's roller derby wrist guard, designed and tested by derby skaters. It has a wider palm splint and a snug-fit body built to handle the falls, slides and pack contact of a bout. It suits derby skaters, rink skaters and anyone on quads or inlines who goes down hard and often.

The extra wide palm splint spreads the energy of a fall over a bigger area than a standard splint, and the splints top and bottom are removable. Inside is a padded terry cloth lining with vented neoprene sides, plus a Sweatsaver brow-wipe on the back of the hand. Reinforced double stitching keeps it together season after season, and a single Velcro strap with a sleeve design locks it in.

Size Guide

Measure the circumference of your hand around the knuckles, keeping the hand flat. If you are between sizes or unsure, Triple 8 strongly recommends sizing up to the larger size. The cm figures are converted from Triple 8's inch chart.

The sleeve fits snug out of the box and relaxes a little with use, so a firm first fit is normal.

What size RD Wristsaver should I get?
Measure around your knuckles and match it to the chart: S is 7–8in, M 8–9in, L 9–10in and XL 10–11in. Triple 8 recommends sizing up if you sit between sizes. Expect a snug fit at first, as the sleeve eases slightly with wear.

What makes the RD different from the standard Wristsaver?
The RD has an extra wide palm splint, a sleeve body with vented neoprene sides, a padded terry lining and removable splints. The standard Wristsaver is a simpler mesh guard with fixed ABS splints. The RD is the one to pick if you skate derby or fall a lot on quads.

Are the RD Wristsavers only for roller derby?
No. They were designed with derby skaters, but they work for any quad, inline or rink skater who wants more palm coverage. Skateboarders can wear them too if they like a fuller guard.

How do I care for my RD Wristsavers?
Let them air dry after every session so the terry lining and neoprene do not stay damp. Triple 8 does not publish washing instructions for this model, so if you hand wash them, use cool water and mild soap and dry them away from direct heat.

Should I replace wrist guards after a big fall?
Check the splints and stitching after any heavy slam. If a splint is cracked, bent or the stitching has let go, replace the guard, as it will not spread the next impact the same way.
