Size Guide
Wrap a soft tape around your head about 2cm above the eyebrows, at the widest point, and take the number in cm. Triple Eight measures from the middle of the forehead. If you're between sizes, size up and use the thicker fit pads to snug it in.
| Size | Head circumference | Inches |
|---|---|---|
| XS/S | 48–54cm | 18.9–21.3in |
| S/M | 55–58cm | 21.7–22.8in |
| L/XL | 59–61cm | 23.2–24in |
This is the size chart retailers publish for the Triple Eight Brainsaver with EPS liner. Fit inserts adjust the fit within each size.
About Triple 8
Triple Eight was born on the streets of New York City and made its first helmet in 1996. It started as skate protection for people who actually ride, and that is still the whole point. Over the years the brand has built signature lids with some of the biggest names on a board, from Tony Hawk pro models to Mike McGill's Skull and Snake Deep Cover and a Deep Cover for back-to-back Olympic gold medallist Keegan Palmer.
Today Triple Eight is known for the Sweatsaver liner, soft sweat-absorbing fit pads that turned the Certified Sweatsaver into one of the most recognised helmets at any skatepark. Riders choose Triple Eight for the classic low-profile shape, a fit that is easy to tune with swap-out pads, and dual certification across most of the range for skating and bike riding.
FAQs
Can I use the Triple 8 Brainsaver for skateboarding and bike riding?
Check before you ride. Triple Eight has made the Brainsaver in more than one version, and we have not been able to confirm the certification on this one from Triple Eight. Only use a helmet for bike or scooter riding in Australia if the sticker inside shows an accepted standard such as CPSC 1203, AS/NZS 2063 or EN 1078, and ask us if you're unsure.
What size Triple 8 Brainsaver should I get?
Measure around your head about 2cm above the eyebrows and match it to the chart above. If you land between sizes, size up and use the thicker fit inserts to snug it in.
When should I replace my helmet?
Replace it after any significant crash or hard hit to the head, even if you can't see damage. A hard foam liner is built to crush to absorb a big impact, so after that it won't protect you the same way. Also replace it if the shell is cracked or the straps and buckle are worn.
What is the difference between the Brainsaver and the Dual Certified helmet?
They share the classic Triple Eight Brainsaver shape. The Dual Certified version is certified to the US CPSC bike and ASTM F1492 skate standards; if you need a helmet for bike riding as well as skating, choose a model with confirmed certification such as the Dual Certified or Certified Sweatsaver.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
Over a decade in business. More than 1,000 reviews. The most trusted specialist board store in Melbourne. If you need advice before you buy, call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us in-store, or contact us online — we'll get you sorted.
