Tranzite Light Up Wheels 97mm 78a | Purple
Big, soft 97mm wheels that light up the road every time you roll.
The Tranzite Light Up Wheels are 97mm, 78A cruising wheels with LEDs built right into the wheel. They were made for electric skateboards, but the standard ABEC-style core means they also suit regular longboards with the right clearance. If you ride at dusk, commute after work or just want to be seen, these are for you. This set is Purple.
Inside each wheel, a magnet and rotor system powers the LEDs as the wheel turns, so there are no batteries to charge or swap. Tranzite says the brightness doesn't wear out over time. The 78A urethane is soft and grippy, soaking up cracks and rough bitumen, and the 58mm contact patch keeps plenty of rubber on the road. The big 97mm diameter rolls over pebbles and holds speed with less effort.

About Tranzite
Tranzite is an Australian electric skateboard company, founded in 2017 and based in Sydney. Its boards are Australian made, and the brand's mission is simple: change the way people move around cities with clean, electric transport.
Today Tranzite is best known for its Direct Drive electric skateboards and the wheel options built around them, from airless rubber and Cloud Wheels to all-terrain setups. Riders choose Tranzite for local design and support, and for a crew that only recommends gear they ride themselves.
FAQs
What are Tranzite Light Up Wheels best for?
Night cruising, commuting and being seen. They were designed for electric skateboards, and the big, soft 97mm, 78A setup also makes a comfortable cruising wheel on a regular longboard. The built-in LEDs light up as you roll, with nothing to charge.
What does 78A mean?
78A is the hardness of the urethane, and it's on the soft side. Soft wheels grip well, absorb vibration and stay smooth over cracks and rough bitumen. They're made for cruising and carving, not sliding or skatepark riding.
How do the lights work? Do they need batteries?
No batteries. A magnet and rotor system inside each wheel powers the LEDs as the wheel spins, so they light up when you're rolling. Tranzite says the brightness doesn't fade over time.
Will 97mm wheels fit my longboard? Do I need risers?
They can, but check clearance first. 97mm is a big wheel, so a drop-through or drop-deck board with wheel cutouts or wheel wells is the easiest fit. As a general rule, on a topmount board expect to run tall risers, around 1/2" or more, and test for wheelbite at full lean before riding. If you're unsure, bring your board in and we'll check it with you.
Will they fit my electric skateboard?
They have an ABEC-style core, so they fit most ABEC pulleys and adapters on belt and gear drive boards. On Tranzite Direct Drive boards you'll need Tranzite's ABEC adapters, which aren't included. Check that your motor mount and deck clear a 97mm wheel.
Do they come with bearings?
Yes. They come as a set of 4 wheels with bearings and spacers included, so you can bolt them straight on.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
Over a decade in business. More than 1,000 reviews. The most trusted specialist board store in Melbourne. If you need advice before you buy, call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us in-store, or contact us online — we'll get you sorted.
