Super73 R Adventure Series Special Edition Electric Bike | Bandit
Full Suspension. 960Wh. The Flagship.
The Super73 R Adventure Series SE is the top of the range and the only Super73 with full suspension. Where the S and Z series run a rigid rear, the R Adventure adds an adjustable rear shock to go with the air-assisted inverted front fork, so it handles gravel, fire trail and broken city surfaces the others have to pick their way around. The Bandit colourway takes its cue from moto racing livery.
The Australian R Adventure SE runs a 250W rear hub motor with pedal assist limited to 25 km/h, certified to EN15194 and legal to ride on public roads and paths where bicycles are permitted. The 960Wh UL2271 battery is the largest Super73 fits to any bike, rated at 60 to 90 km per charge, and it sits low in the downtube to drop the centre of gravity and free up the extended moto seat. Knobby GRZLY fat tyres and 8-speed gearing complete a bike built for range and rough ground rather than pure street.
Twelve Board Store is an authorised Super73 dealer in Melbourne. Every bike is assembled and safety-checked in our Richmond workshop, with demo rides, fitment advice and full Australian warranty support through Ben Buckler Boards.

Real-World Range
The R Adventure SE is rated at 60 to 90 km per charge, the longest of any Super73 thanks to the 960Wh battery. Expect the upper figure on flat ground in low assist. On trail, loose surfaces or sustained climbs with higher assist, plan closer to the lower end, and note that knobby GRZLY tyres cost you a little range on sealed roads compared with a street tyre. Charging takes 6 to 7 hours from flat, longer than the smaller-battery models, so overnight is the sensible routine. The battery is removable for indoor charging. Range varies with rider weight, terrain, assist level, wind, tyre pressure and temperature.
Why Full Suspension Matters
Every other Super73 runs a rigid rear end, which is fine on sealed roads and unpleasant on anything else. The R Adventure adds an adjustable piggyback rear shock to the adjustable front fork, so the rear wheel tracks the ground instead of kicking off it. In practice that means you can ride fire trails, gravel, beach tracks and torn-up city streets at pace without your back paying for it. It is the reason this bike weighs 40 kg and costs what it does, and the reason riders who have outgrown an S2 tend to end up here.
R Adventure SE, S2-E or Z-Miami SE?
All three are 250W road-legal pedal assist bikes. The R Adventure SE is the one to buy if you ride off sealed surfaces, want maximum range, or are a taller or heavier rider: 960Wh, 60 to 90 km, full suspension, knobby tyres, 81 cm seat, 160 to 203 cm rider window. The S2-E is the street-focused classic at 720Wh and 56 to 72 km with a rigid rear. The Z-Miami SE is the compact entry point at 480Wh and 40 to 56 km. Going up the range buys you range, suspension travel and size, and costs you weight and manageability.
What Is Different About the Australian Model
Super73's product photography shows US-spec bikes. The Australian R Adventure SE differs in two ways: it runs an 8-speed drivetrain and includes orange wheel reflectors to meet local road rules. Electronically it is configured to 250W pedal assist with no throttle fitted, which is what makes it road legal here.
Australian Road Legality
In its standard configuration the R Adventure SE is a 250W pedal-assist electric bike with a 25 km/h cut-off, certified to EN15194. That makes it legal to ride on public roads and bike paths where bicycles are permitted, with no registration or licence required. In Australia it is illegal to ride an e-bike fitted with a throttle on public roads or paths, which is why Australian Super73 models are supplied pedal assist only.
This model is covered by NSW Fair Trading Certificate No. 29542 under UL2849:2022, issued to Ben Buckler Boards Pty Ltd as the Australian distributor. That certification confirms the bike is approved as a declared electrical article and must only be used with approved Super73 batteries and chargers. Always check the e-bike rules in your own state before riding, and note that fat tyre e-bikes are not permitted on all trail networks.
About Super73
Founded in California, Super73 created the moto-styled electric bike category and built a global riding community around it. The R Adventure Series is the flagship, the model the brand builds when it stops compromising on suspension and battery capacity. Australian stock is imported and certified by Ben Buckler Boards, independently tested to meet Australian electrical safety and e-bike standards.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Super73 R Adventure SE road legal in Australia?
Yes. The Australian model is a 250W pedal-assist e-bike limited to 25 km/h and certified to EN15194, so it can be ridden on public roads and bike paths where bicycles are permitted, with no registration or licence needed. Check your state's specific e-bike rules before riding.
Does the Australian R Adventure SE come with a throttle?
No. Australian Super73 bikes are supplied as pedal assist only. Riding an e-bike with a throttle fitted on Australian public roads or paths is illegal, so no throttle is fitted or offered with this bike. The motor engages when you pedal.
How far will the R Adventure SE go on one charge?
It is rated at 60 to 90 km per charge from the 960Wh battery, the longest range in the Super73 lineup. Expect the upper figure on flat sealed ground in low assist, and less on trail or sustained climbs. Recharging takes 6 to 7 hours from flat and the battery is removable for indoor charging.
What is the difference between the R Adventure SE and the S2-E?
Suspension and capacity. The R Adventure has full adjustable suspension front and rear, a 960Wh battery, 60 to 90 km range and knobby GRZLY tyres. The S2-E has a rigid rear, a 720Wh battery, 56 to 72 km range and street-oriented MAXXIS tyres. The R Adventure is 8 kg heavier and is the better bike off sealed surfaces.
Can the R Adventure SE handle off-road riding?
Yes, within reason. Full adjustable suspension and GRZLY knobby tyres make it capable on gravel, fire trail, hardpack and sand. It is an adventure e-bike rather than a mountain bike, so it suits trails and rough surfaces rather than technical singletrack. Check whether e-bikes are permitted on any trail network before you ride it.
What height rider does the R Adventure SE suit?
Super73 recommends riders between 160 cm and 203 cm, with an 81.3 cm seat height and a 147 kg rider weight limit. It is the largest bike in the range and the best fit for taller riders. If you are under about 160 cm, look at the S2-E or the Z-Miami SE instead.
Is 40 kg too heavy for daily use?
It is the heaviest bike in the Super73 range, which is the trade-off for full suspension and a 960Wh battery. On the move the weight sits low and feels planted. It does matter if you need to carry it upstairs or lift it onto a car rack, so factor that in. The battery is removable, which takes several kilos off before lifting.
Does the Australian bike look the same as the product photos?
Not exactly. Super73's images show US-spec bikes. Australian stock runs an 8-speed drivetrain and includes orange wheel reflectors for local road compliance. Everything else, including frame, Bandit colourway and components, matches what you see.
Is the R Adventure SE certified for safety in Australia?
Yes. The battery is UL2271 certified, the bike is EN15194 certified, and the model is covered by NSW Fair Trading Certificate No. 29542 under UL2849:2022, issued to Ben Buckler Boards. Only approved Super73 batteries and chargers should be used to keep that certification valid.
Does it come with a bell or horn?
A horn is fitted as standard, unlike the Z-Miami SE and S2-E which are supplied without one. That satisfies the Australian road rule requiring a working warning device on any bicycle ridden in public, so there is nothing extra you need to buy before your first ride.
Can I test ride the R Adventure SE in Melbourne?
Yes. Visit Twelve Board Store in Richmond to ride the R Adventure SE before you buy. At this price point we would rather you rode it first. Call ahead on 03 9421 2293 to confirm the bike is on the floor and we will have it charged and ready.
What warranty does the R Adventure SE come with?
Super73 Australia bikes carry a 2-year manufacturer warranty covering electronic and mechanical components including the battery and motor, supported by Ben Buckler Boards as the official Australian distributor. Twelve Board Store is an authorised dealer, so your warranty and servicing are handled locally.
