Ride Specter Men's Snowboard Binding 2027 | Chrome
Chrome Ride Specter 2027: A Light, Mellow Freestyle Binding With Some Shine.
Park riders who like their gear to stand out tend to grab the Chrome Ride Specter off the wall first. It's Ride's freestyle snowboard binding for 2027, Mellow on Ride's response scale and focused squarely on the park, with an aluminium chassis that keeps it light without feeling flimsy.
That A-Series chassis gives the Specter a loose, connected feel. It flexes with the board rather than against it, so nose and tail presses come naturally, and the canted footbed with its Diecut EVA pad soaks up the slap of a flat landing. There's no forward lean block on the flat nylon highback, the ankle strap's urethane frame and soft cushion spread pressure evenly, and the 2.0 version of Ride's minimalist toe strap sits over the top or front of the boot. The Chrome finish adds a metallic flash to your board.
The Tech and What It Does on the Hill
✅ A-Series Aluminium Chassis: light, tough and backed by Ride's lifetime chassis warranty; the aluminium moves with your board, so presses and butters feel natural
✅ Flat Nylon Highback: no forward lean block to fiddle with; Ride has set the lean angle and flex specifically for freestyle
✅ Two-Piece Ankle Strap: a medium flex urethane frame with softer cushioning that spreads pressure evenly across your boot
✅ Minimalist Toe Strap 2.0: run it over the top or across the front of the boot for a tight boot to binding connection
✅ Linkage Ratchets: no ratchet wag, and the ladders hold up longer
✅ Canted Footbed with A-Series Diecut EVA Pad: a natural knee alignment plus damping for the slap of flat landings and icy take-offs
✅ Tool-less strap removal: toe and ankle straps come off without tools
✅ Fully adjustable chassis: centre the boot heel to toe for balanced edge control
Best for: park riders and freestylers who want a mellow, lightweight snowboard binding with plenty of board feel for jumps, rails, boxes, butters and jibs.
Built for Australian Conditions
Park days here can start on ice and finish in slop. Early on, the jumps at Thredbo or Hotham are often frozen hard, and by mid afternoon you're pushing through slush on the in-runs. A soft, damp binding makes the hard landings easier on your knees and lets you play around once it softens up. If you're planning a season in Canada or a trip to Japan, a light binding like this is easy to live with on long park sessions.
Setup Tips from the Shop
Centre the boot on the chassis so the toe and heel overhang match, then set the straps so the ratchets close with travel to spare. Plenty of park riders start with a duck stance and tweak the angles after a few laps; there's no forward lean block to set, so it really is mount and go. Try the toe strap over the top of the boot and across the front to see which holds you better, and check the disc screws after your first couple of days. Buy in store and we'll mount and set them up for free.
Not for you if: you're after a binding to charge groomers at speed or ride steep, firm freeride lines. Browse our men's snowboard bindings and filter for a stiffer, more responsive binding in your boot size.

FAQs
How does Ride Specter binding sizing work?
There are two sizes on Ride's chart: Medium for US Men's 6 to 10 and Large for US Men's 10.5 and up. If you're unsure, our binding size charts break it down by brand, or bring your boots in to 435A Bridge Rd Richmond and we'll strap them in. You can also call 03 9421 2293.
How soft is the Ride Specter?
Ride rates the Specter Mellow, the soft end of its response scale, and builds it for park riding. It's made to let you tweak, press and butter without fighting the binding.
Does the Ride Specter come with a warranty?
Yes. Ride covers the A-Series aluminium chassis with a lifetime warranty, and buying from an authorised dealer like us means you get the full manufacturer warranty.
Can I adjust the forward lean on the Ride Specter?
There's no forward lean block. Ride sets the forward lean angle and flex for freestyle on the flat nylon highback. If you want adjustable lean for carving, a binding with a forward lean adjuster will suit you better.
About Ride
Ride started out of the Seattle area in 1992 with freestyle running through everything it made, and more than three decades on it still builds snowboards, boots and bindings with the same attitude: put the effort into how the gear rides, not into marketing gimmicks. You can see it in the details we care about at the shop, like aluminium binding chassis covered by a lifetime warranty, boot outsoles made with up to 30% reground rubber, and FSC certified packaging.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
Over a decade in business. More than 1,000 reviews. The most trusted specialist board store in Melbourne. If you need advice before you buy, call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us in-store, or contact us online — we'll get you sorted.
