The Low Pro Certified is Pro-Tec's most advanced skate helmet, with a slimmer profile and a deeper fit than the Classic. This is the Steve Caballero signature edition, from skate legend and Pro-Tec team rider Steve Caballero. It's made for skaters and BMX riders who want a helmet that looks low and stays locked on, however hard they spin.

The SLIMTECH CORE uses EPS Matrix Foam that's 22% thinner than a standard helmet, which is how it sits so close to your head. The FLEXLOCK FIT system and a 17-piece padding kit let you fine-tune the fit, and it's certified to the US bicycle standard and the skateboard standard.

Size Guide

Wrap a soft tape around your head about 2cm above the eyebrows, over the widest point at the back. Pro-Tec recommends sizing up if you measure at the top end of a size range (for example, 54cm goes to the bigger size), and says riders usually find the larger size more comfortable.

Sizes overlap; use the 17-piece padding kit to fine-tune. At 54cm, Pro-Tec says go S/M.

Can I use the Pro-Tec Low Pro Certified for skateboarding and bike riding?
Yes. It's certified to CPSC 1203, ASTM F1492 and ASTM F1447. CPSC 1203 is one of the bicycle standards accepted in Australia, so it's legal for bike and e-bike riding and scooters, and ASTM F1492 covers skateboarding and trick roller skating.

What size Pro-Tec Low Pro Certified should I get?
Measure around your head about 2cm above the eyebrows: XS/S 51–54cm, S/M 53–57cm, L/XL 57–60cm, XL/XXL 60–63cm. If you're at the top of a range, go up a size; Pro-Tec says riders usually find the larger size more comfortable. Then use the padding kit to snug it in.

When should I replace my helmet?
Replace it after any significant crash or hard hit, even if you can't see damage. The EPS liner crushes to absorb a big impact and doesn't bounce back, so it won't protect the same way twice. Also swap it out if the shell cracks, the foam is dented or the strap and buckle are worn. Pro-Tec doesn't publish a set age limit, so check it over regularly.

What's the difference between the Low Pro and the Classic?
The Low Pro has a thinner EPS core, so it sits deeper and closer to your head with a slimmer look. It also adds the FLEXLOCK FIT system and a 17-piece padding kit for a more custom fit. The Classic is the original shape with a simpler shell-size fit.
