The JR Classic Certified is Pro-Tec's iconic Classic shape built for smaller heads, here in Matte Purple. It's made for kids learning to skate, ride scooters, bikes or roller skates, and it carries the same certifications as the adult Classic Certified.

A high-impact ABS shell covers an EPS liner, with heat-sealed interior pads and 11 open vents. The Twist Fit system gives dual-direction ratcheting adjustment, so you can dial in the fit as your kid grows without swapping liners, and two comfort liner sets come in the box.

Size Guide

Wrap a soft tape around your child's head about 2cm above the eyebrows, over the widest point at the back. If they're between sizes, go up and use the Twist Fit and liners to snug it down, which also leaves room to grow.

Can I use the Pro-Tec JR Classic Certified for skateboarding and bike riding?
Yes. It's certified to CPSC 1203, AS/NZS 2063:2008, EN 1078, ASTM F1492 and ASTM F1447. CPSC 1203 is one of the bicycle standards accepted in Australia, so it's legal for bike and e-bike riding and scooters, and ASTM F1492 covers skateboarding and trick roller skating.

What size Pro-Tec JR Classic Certified should I get?
Measure your child's head about 2cm above the eyebrows. Youth Small fits 47–51cm and Youth Medium fits 52–56cm. If they're between sizes, go up and use the Twist Fit to tighten it. It should sit level just above the eyebrows and not slide when they shake their head.

When should I replace my helmet?
Replace it after any significant crash or hard hit, even if you can't see damage. The EPS liner crushes to absorb a big impact and doesn't bounce back, so it won't protect the same way twice. Also swap it out if the shell cracks, the foam is dented or the strap and buckle are worn. Pro-Tec doesn't publish a set age limit, so check it over regularly. Kids also outgrow helmets, so recheck the fit every few months.

How does the Twist Fit system work?
Turn the Twist Fit to tighten or loosen the fit in either direction. It saves swapping liners every time, so the helmet adjusts quickly between kids or as your child grows. The included liner sets let you fine-tune further.
