Orangatang Kegel Wheels 80mm/83a
Fast 80mm roll and huge grip for speed, race and downhill.
The Kegel is an 80mm longboard classic built for speed and grip. It holds momentum, smooths out rough roads and stays locked in when you're going fast. It suits downhill and race riders, hard carvers and anyone who wants a big, confident wheel for long runs. This set is the 83a durometer.
It's poured in Happy Thane with sharp lips and an offset bearing seat on a stiff, heat-resistant core. The 56mm width and full 56mm contact patch put a lot of urethane on the road, so it grips hard in corners. It's designed for grip first, so it holds its line through high-speed corners.

About Orangatang
Orangatang was hatched in Southern California in 2008 as the sister wheel brand of Loaded Boards. The two still share a building and most of the same crew in Culver City: Loaded builds the boards, and Orangatang makes what they roll on.
Orangatang is known for its Happy Thane urethane, a smooth, fast, high-traction formula, poured into shapes for every kind of longboarding, from compact freeride wheels to 105mm giants for distance pushing and e-skate. Every wheel is listed with real numbers for width, contact patch, lip shape and bearing seat, so you can choose exactly the ride you want.
FAQs
What are Orangatang Kegel wheels best for?
Speed and grip. They're built for downhill, racing and hard carving, where the big 80mm size and full 56mm contact patch keep you locked in. Orangatang also pitches them for fast commutes, long pushes and electric longboards.
What does 83a mean?
83a is a firmer option. It rolls faster on smooth roads and breaks into slides more easily, with a little less grip and cushion than 80a. Heavier riders often prefer it too.
Do I need risers for 80mm wheels?
On drop-through and many drop-deck boards with wheel cut-outs, often not. On a topmount, you'll usually need a riser and should check for wheelbite at full lean before riding. Tighter trucks need less clearance than loose ones.
Are Kegels good for sliding?
They're built for grip, not drift. Orangatang designs the Kegel to stay planted through high-speed corners, so it won't break loose as easily as a rounded-lip freeride wheel. For learning slides, a rounded-lip wheel like the Fat Free or Beefcake is the better choice.
Do they come with bearings?
No, they're sold as wheels only. You'll need 8 standard 608 skate bearings for a set of 4, and on longboard wheels we recommend bearings with built-in spacers, or separate spacers, for a smoother, longer-lasting setup.

Let customers speak for us
Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
Over a decade in business. More than 1,000 reviews. The most trusted specialist board store in Melbourne. If you need advice before you buy, call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us in-store, or contact us online — we'll get you sorted.
