Loaded Tan Tien V2 Complete Longboard | 39"
Find your centre. Carving, pumping and tricks in one compact board.
The Tan Tien blends carve-focused longboarding with real trick potential. At 39" with a drop-through mount, it sits low and stable for easy pushing and smooth carving, while poppy nose and tail kicks open the door to manuals, shuvits, slides and street freestyle.
Its vertically laminated bamboo core and triaxial fibreglass give it a lively, energetic flex for pumping and carving, with basalt reinforcement in the neck and kicks for durability. Paris V3 trucks and Orangatang Stimulus wheels round out a versatile setup that does a little bit of everything really well.

Flex Guide
Flex is how much the deck bends under your weight, and it changes the whole feel of the ride. Loaded numbers its flexes from stiffest to softest: Flex 1 is the stiffest, and each higher number is softer.
- Stiffer (lower number): more stable and damped at speed, a planted platform for heavier riders, harder landings and faster riding.
- Softer (higher number): more spring and rebound, so pumping and carving feel livelier and more surf-like, especially at lower speeds. Best for lighter riders.
Pick by your weight first, then your style. If you sit where two flexes overlap, go stiffer for speed and stability, or softer for a bouncier, pumpier ride.
| Flex | Rider weight | Feel on the Tan Tien |
|---|---|---|
| Flex 1 | 75–122+ kg | stiffest; stable and supportive for heavier riders and aggressive tricks |
| Flex 2 | 50–95+ kg | the all-rounder; lively for carving and pumping, with pop for tricks |
| Flex 3 | 36–77 kg | softest and springiest; for lighter riders who want maximum bounce |
About Loaded Boards
Loaded Boards was founded in 2000 by Don Tashman, after years of building snowboard-inspired boards in New York, some of them cut from old snowboards. The first Loaded board, the Vanguard, launched in June 2002. Loaded moved its whole line to bamboo cores in 2006, released the original Dervish, one of the first flexible drop-through carving boards, in 2007, and started its sister wheel brand Orangatang in 2008.
More than two decades on, Loaded still designs out of Culver City, California, and is known for obsessive construction, sustainable materials like bamboo, basalt and bio-based resins, and boards developed with its riders for carving, dancing, freestyle and freeride. If you want a longboard that feels alive under your feet, Loaded is the benchmark.
FAQs
What is the Loaded Tan Tien best for?
It's an all-rounder: carving and pumping around town, plus freestyle tricks like manuals, shuvits and slides thanks to the kicks. The drop-through mount makes it stable and easy to push, so it's also a great commuter.
Is a 39" longboard the right size for me?
For most riders, yes. 39" is a versatile length: long enough to feel stable and carve smoothly, short enough to stay nimble for tricks and easy to carry. It suits most teens and adults; very tall riders who only want long carves may prefer a 42"+ board.
Is the Tan Tien good for beginners?
Yes. The low drop-through platform is stable and easy to push, and the flex makes carving feel smooth and natural. As you progress, the kicks let you start learning tricks without needing a new board.
Which flex should I choose?
Go by your weight first. On the Tan Tien, Flex 1 suits roughly 75–122+ kg; Flex 2 suits roughly 50–95+ kg; Flex 3 suits roughly 36–77 kg. Lower numbers are stiffer and more stable at speed; higher numbers are softer and pumpier. If you sit between two, go stiffer for speed and stability or softer for a livelier carve. Not sure? Call or visit us and we'll help you choose.
Can I commute on the Tan Tien?
Yes. The drop-through mount keeps you low for easy pushing, and the 70mm wheels handle normal footpaths well. It's compact enough to carry onto public transport.
Does it come ready to ride?
Yes. It arrives fully assembled with griptape, trucks, wheels and bearings installed. Just check the truck tightness suits you and go ride.
