Landyachtz Dinghy Classic Skateboard | Wave — 28.5"
Landyachtz Dinghy Classic in Wave. 28.5" x 8" 7-ply Canadian maple, medium cave concave, 105mm Polar Bear trucks, 63mm 78a Fatty Hawgs wheels, Spaceball bearings. Over 20 years of getting it right — still the one.
The Dinghy Classic is the board that built Landyachtz's reputation and it hasn't needed a reinvention since. For over 20 years it has been the compact cruiser that riders keep coming back to — short enough to stash in a backpack or on a crowded bus, wide enough to feel stable underfoot, and set up with components that were chosen specifically for this shape rather than just bolted on to hit a price point. The Wave colourway features artwork by San Diego artist Nathan Ledyard — a clean, flowing graphic that sits as well on a wall as it does under a foot.
At 28.5" x 8" with a 14.6" wheelbase, the Classic Dinghy is sized for maximum manoeuvrability without sacrificing the foot space that makes cruising comfortable. The 7-ply Canadian maple is sourced from the finest Eastern Canadian veneers and pressed stiff — light, poppy, and built to handle years of daily skating without losing its character. Medium cave concave keeps your feet planted through carves without becoming aggressive over longer rides, and sanded wheel wells expand wheel size compatibility beyond the standard setup. The 105mm Polar Bear trucks deliver the tightest turning circle of any truck in this class, and the 63mm 78a Fatty Hawgs wheels are the benchmark cruiser wheel in the Landyachtz lineup — soft enough to absorb cracks and rough pavement, fast enough to keep rolling between pushes. Spaceball bearings have washers and spacers built into the inner race so you never lose them.
Landyachtz has been skater-owned and operated out of Vancouver, Canada since 1997. They design their own trucks, pour their own urethane through the Hawgs brand, and plant a tree for every board sold through their One Board One Tree programme. The Dinghy Classic is the board that proves you don't need to overcomplicate something that already works.
Why Ride the Landyachtz Dinghy Classic Wave?
-
The Original Dinghy Shape — 20+ Years Proven
The same compact cruiser platform that has anchored the Landyachtz lineup for over two decades; refined, not reinvented — because the shape, the trucks, and the wheels were right from the beginning. -
7-Ply Canadian Maple Construction — Stiff Flex
Sourced from the finest Eastern Canadian maple veneers; stiff, light, and poppy — built to last through years of daily skating without losing its feel underfoot. -
Medium Cave Concave
The perfect middle ground — enough concave to keep your feet locked in through carves and tight turns, without being aggressive enough to cause discomfort over longer sessions. -
105mm Polar Bear Trucks
Landyachtz's own trucks designed specifically for the Dinghy platform; deliver the tightest turning circle in the compact cruiser class with 88a bushings for the right balance of agility and stability. -
63mm 78a Fatty Hawgs Wheels
The benchmark cruiser wheel in the Landyachtz lineup; soft 78a urethane rolls over cracks and rough pavement smoothly, with enough speed and roll to keep you moving between pushes. -
Spaceball Bearings
Built-in washers and spacers mean you can never lose them; bearings are always correctly mated, eliminating bearing-induced chatter and keeping the roll consistent from day one. -
Sanded Wheel Wells
Additional wheel clearance sanded directly into the deck expands wheel size compatibility beyond the standard setup, giving you room to upgrade without worrying about wheelbite. -
Nathan Ledyard Artwork
Artwork by San Diego artist Nathan Ledyard; a clean, flowing graphic that's a genuine collaboration between Landyachtz and an independent artist — not stock art dressed up as something else. -
One Board One Tree
Landyachtz plants a tree for every board sold — a skater-owned brand with a genuine environmental commitment behind every product they ship.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the difference between a longboard and a cruiser skateboard?
A: A longboard is built for stability — longer distances, sweeping carves, and a planted ride. A cruiser is more compact and portable, with a kicktail for navigating urban terrain and tighter spaces. The choice comes down to how much board you want underfoot and where you're taking it. Not sure? Call us on 03 9421 2293 and we'll sort it out.
Q: What size should I choose?
A: Shorter boards are easier to carry and more manoeuvrable. Longer boards are usually wider, offering more stability and a surf-style feel underfoot. Go shorter for portability, longer for a more flowing and planted ride. Give us a call on 03 9421 2293 and we'll point you in the right direction.
