Frequently Asked Questions
What does 228-3M mean?
It is the belt's sizing code. 228 is the belt length in millimetres and 3M is the tooth pitch, meaning 3 mm between each tooth. Both numbers have to match your drive system. A 3M belt will not run on a 5M pulley and vice versa, even if the length is close.
Will these fit my Summerboard?
These are sized at 228-3M for Summerboard drives. Summerboards use more than one belt length depending on the model and drive setup, so measure the belt you are replacing or read the size printed on its back face before ordering. Not sure? Call us on 03 9421 2293 and we will work it out with you.
Why are these sold as a pair?
Belts wear together. Fitting one new belt alongside one that is halfway through its life means uneven tension and the old one usually fails not long after, so you end up doing the job twice. Replacing both at once keeps the drive balanced and saves you a second strip-down.
How do I know if my belts need replacing?
Look for cracking between the teeth, fraying along the edges, missing or rounded teeth, or a belt that has gone glossy on the toothed face. Slipping under acceleration or a new whining noise from the drive are both signs they are on the way out.
Can I fit them myself?
Yes. It is a straightforward job with basic tools once the motor mount tension is released. If you would rather not, bring the board into our Richmond workshop and we will fit them while you wait.

I've had my new Pint-S now for a week and put about 11 klms on it so far due to a fair bit of rain. The battery is now at 62% and top speed of 16kph as I find 12-15 very comfortable and have no intention of hurting myself any sooner than I have to.
The treaded tire gives more confidence for sure off of the pavement which I do about 50%.
I like the curved foot pads as I like a wide stance and my feet feel more planted than on the Pint. The Fender is also almost a must for me now that I see the difference of gravel and dirt not covering the footpads anymore.
Twelveboard store was very helpful and friendly with the purchase as well.
