About Deca
Daewon Song launched Deca in 1999, shortly after leaving World Industries. He built the early team around Chris Haslam, JB Gillet and Marcus McBride, and the crew's two videos, Sneak Preview and 2nd to None, put Daewon's inventive, technical skating front and centre.
Today Deca concentrates on kids' completes: colourful, character-driven boards in grom-friendly sizes, built with genuine skateboard parts so young riders learn on equipment that actually works.
FAQs
Who is a 6.5" skateboard best for?
A 6.5" deck is a micro size, the smallest category of skateboard. It suits young kids around 5 and under who are taking their first pushes, because a narrow, short board is light and easy for tiny feet to control. As kids grow they usually move to a mini (around 7.0" to 7.25") at about 6 to 9, then a mid (7.3" to 7.9") and eventually a full size of 8.0" and up.
Is this a good skateboard for beginners?
Yes. It's a kids' micro complete made for learning, with genuine skateboard components. That's a big step up from toy-store boards, which use lower-quality parts that make learning harder.
What can I ride this skateboard for?
Learning to stand, push and balance, rolling around the driveway and footpath, and first visits to the skatepark with a parent. It's small enough that young kids can carry and control it themselves.
Does it come ready to ride?
Yes. It arrives fully assembled with griptape, trucks, wheels and bearings installed. Just check the truck tightness to suit the rider and go skate.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
Over a decade in business. More than 1,000 reviews. The most trusted specialist board store in Melbourne. If you need advice before you buy, call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us in-store, or contact us online — we'll get you sorted.
