Twelve Board Store Electric Bike Service — What We Offer and Why It Matters

The service side of what we do is not an afterthought. It is a core part of why we stock the brands we stock, why we care which bikes we sell, and why we invest in having Frosty run a proper workshop rather than outsourcing repairs.

If you are buying a fat tyre electric bike — from us or from anyone — the service and support picture is worth understanding before you commit. Here is what we offer and why it matters.

Free Assembly and Initial Setup

Every electric bike we sell leaves our store fully assembled and set up. Not a box with instructions — a bike that is ready to ride. We assemble the bike, perform the initial setup, check the brakes, confirm tyre pressure, calibrate the display, and test everything before it goes out the door. We ship Australia-wide and bikes leave fully assembled and set up regardless of whether you are picking up in store or receiving interstate.

6 Months of Free Tweaks and Adjustments

For the first 6 months after purchase, any tweaks or adjustments are included at no charge. Cables stretch slightly under regular load in the first few weeks of riding. Brakes bed in. Small adjustments make a real difference. We offer this because new bikes genuinely need it and knowing you can bring it back and get it sorted without a bill removes the friction that stops people doing routine maintenance.

Ongoing Servicing

After the initial 6 month period, our Richmond workshop handles all ongoing servicing for the electric bikes we sell. Annual service, brake pad replacement, chain and drivetrain maintenance, tyre and tube replacement, battery health checks — all in-house. Frosty has worked on every model we stock extensively. When something needs diagnosis, it gets diagnosed properly.

Warranty Work

We are authorised dealers for every brand we stock. Warranty claims go through us — you are not dealing with a manufacturer overseas, waiting on email responses from a different time zone, or navigating a claims process without local support. When a warranty issue arises, we assess it, liaise with the brand and sort it. That is what being an authorised dealer means in practice.

Parts Availability

We stock common parts for the bikes we carry — tyres, tubes, brake pads, battery connectors, common consumables. Less common parts come quickly through our brand relationships. Parts availability was part of our evaluation when we chose which brands to stock. A bike without a clear parts and service path is a liability over a 3 to 5 year ownership period.

Interstate Customers

A significant portion of our electric bike customers are not in Melbourne. We ship Australia-wide, fast. Bikes leave fully assembled and set up. The 6 months of free adjustments applies regardless of where you are. For interstate customers, we are also available by phone for advice on things that do not require workshop access.

If You Did Not Buy From Us

We service electric bikes from the brands we stock regardless of where they were purchased. If you have a Fatboy, Super73, Ampd Brothers or FlightRisk that needs attention and you are in Melbourne — call us. We are not precious about who sold the bike. If we can help, we will.
