Rome AW Katana FASE Pro Snowboard Binding 2027 | Stealth Black
Carbon-Filled Katana. Trusted by Ståle. Lightning-Fast Entry.
The 2027 Rome AW Katana FASE Pro snowboard binding in Stealth Black is Rome's new premium FASE offering: a carbon-filled, all-terrain binding built for lightning-fast reactions. Rome says it's trusted by Ståle Sandbech for high-octane riding, whether he's in the backcountry or lapping the Whistler parks. Rome put the FASE® Fast Entry System and a carbon-filled baseplate on the Katana AsymWrap platform, and the result is pure reactive power with strap-in so fast you'll never sit in the snow again.
This all-black Pro version runs stiffer than the standard Katana AW FASE, with a 7–9 flex range you can tune toward playful or precise. It's built for riders who want a powerful, nimble binding for high-performance riding.
What Is FASE®?
FASE® stands for Fast Entry System. It's a true two-strap binding with faster entry built in:
- Folding highback that closes automatically. Fold it flat for skating, chairlifts and storage. Step in, engage the toe strap, and the highback closes around your boot.
- Locked-in toe strap. It stays in your set position between runs.
- FastStrap ankle strap. Buckle down and go.
Getting out is simple: unbuckle the ankle strap like any two-strap binding, bend your knee slightly, lift your heel and step out.
About Rome Snowboards
Rome has been building snowboards and bindings since 2001, and Rome calls the Katana the most storied binding in snowboarding. It's known for adjustability and connected comfort. Rome's AsymWrap chassis and AuxTech® straps changed how a binding can feel, and the Katana FASE family carries all of it into the fast-entry era.
Key Features
- ✅ FASE® Fast Entry System: the speed of fast entry with the hold of two straps
- ✅ C Baseplate (30% carbon): carbon-filled for sharper, faster reactions than the standard Katana FASE
- ✅ AsymWrap Platform: Rome's game-changing chassis. The heelhoop connects to the base at three points, giving a surfy ride and plenty of board feel without losing tweakability or edge-to-edge response
- ✅ Forged Aluminium Heelhoop: lightweight strength and durability
- ✅ PivotMount FASE®: four ankle strap positions per side. Higher feels more locked-in and powerful; lower feels more playful and surfy
- ✅ OmniFlex Ankle Strap: Rome's most responsive ankle strap, an AuxTech®-powered solid-state overmoulded design with a TPU spine for torsional flex and edge-to-edge power
- ✅ ProGrip Toe Strap: AuxTech®-powered for next-level hold and grip
- ✅ AuxTech®: auxetic hinged patterns that expand evenly under pressure, spreading load across your boot for connected comfort
- ✅ 2° Canted Dual-Density Footbed: a natural stance with all-day comfort
- ✅ Never Miss A Day kit: ships with backup ladders, screws and washers so a broken part doesn't end your day

Sizing tip: Sizes marked * are Rome's boot-dependent range: whether they fit depends on your boot's brand and style, and Rome says it's safest to size up. Size off your snowboard boot, not your street shoe. Bring your boots into our Richmond store and we'll check the fit on the binding before you buy.
Who It's For
Ride it if: you're a strong rider who wants a stiffer, carbon-filled Katana that reacts instantly, with fast entry on top.
Look elsewhere if: you want a more forgiving feel. The standard Rome AW Katana FASE runs a 6–8 flex with the same fast entry.

FAQ
What's the difference between the Katana AW FASE Pro and the standard Katana AW FASE?
The Pro uses a carbon-filled C Baseplate (30% carbon) and runs stiffer, at 7–9 on Rome's flex scale versus 6–8 on the standard version. Both share the AsymWrap chassis, FASE® Fast Entry System, PivotMount and AuxTech® strap package.
Who rides the Rome Katana FASE Pro?
Rome says it's trusted by Ståle Sandbech, who rides it everywhere from the backcountry to the Whistler parks.
How does the Rome Katana FASE work?
Step into the binding and engage the toe strap. The highback closes around your boot automatically, then you buckle down the ankle strap. To get out, unbuckle the ankle strap, bend your knee slightly and lift your heel out.
What size Rome Katana FASE Pro do I need?
S fits US men's 5–7, M/L fits 7.5–10 and L/XL fits 10.5–12.5. At the top of each size (7.5–8 on S, 10.5–11 on M/L, 13–14 on L/XL) the fit depends on your boot's brand and style, and Rome says it's safest to size up. The safest bet is to check your boots on the binding.
What's the Never Miss A Day kit?
It's a spare parts kit that comes with the binding: extra ladders, screws and washers, so you can keep riding while you sort out a replacement part.
Carbon-filled power. Katana control. Zero time wasted.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
