Burton Men's Total Impact Short 2026 | True Black
Low-profile G-Form padding you'll forget you're wearing, until you take a hit.
The men's Burton Total Impact Short is a next-to-skin protective short that sits under your snowboard pants. Burton partnered with G-Form on the padding, a soft, flexible material that momentarily hardens on impact to absorb and spread the hit, then goes soft again. It's built for snow, from linking your first turns to learning a new trick in the park.
The short uses a breathable, quick-drying stretch fabric with chafe-free Softlock seams and a soft logo elastic waistband, so it's comfortable from first chair to last. It's bluesign approved, made with responsibly produced materials, and Burton backs it with a lifetime warranty.

Size Guide
Burton sizes this short on its men's apparel chart. Measure around your natural waist and around the fullest part of your hips with a soft tape, then match both to the chart. It's a next-to-skin fit, so if you sit between sizes and want it snug, take the smaller size; if hips are your bigger measurement, go by hips.
| Size | Waist (cm) | Waist (in) | Hips (cm) | Hips (in) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | 79–84 | 31–33 | 94–98 | 37–38.5 |
| M | 84–89 | 33–35 | 98–103 | 38.5–40.5 |
| L | 89–94 | 35–37 | 103–108 | 40.5–42.5 |
| XL | 94–102 | 37–40 | 108–116 | 42.5–45.5 |
Burton notes all conversions are approximate and fit may vary by style or personal preference. Wear it over underwear or a thin base layer and under your snow pants.
About Burton
Burton was founded by Jake Burton Carpenter in Vermont in 1977, and it's fair to say modern snowboarding grew up alongside it. From the early Backhill boards to pushing resorts to open their lifts to snowboarders, Burton has been at the centre of the sport for nearly 50 years.
Its team has included some of the biggest names in snowboarding, from Kelly Clark and Mark McMorris to Anna Gasser. Burton's protection range follows the same thinking as its outerwear: low profile, comfortable all day and backed by Burton's lifetime warranty on these pieces. It's gear built by riders who spend every winter on snow.
FAQs
What size Burton Men's Total Impact Short should I get?
Measure your waist and hips and match them to Burton's men's chart: for example, a M fits a 84–89cm waist and 98–103cm hips. It's designed to fit snug next to skin, so don't size up for a loose feel. If your hips put you in a bigger size than your waist, go by hips.
Do I wear impact shorts over or under my snow pants?
Under. The Total Impact Short is a low-profile next-to-skin short that goes on over your underwear or base layer and under your snowboard pants, so nobody needs to know you're wearing it.
How does G-Form padding work?
G-Form padding stays soft and flexible while you move, then momentarily hardens when you hit the snow, absorbing and spreading the impact. It goes back to soft straight after, so it keeps working hit after hit.
Are impact shorts worth it for beginners?
Yes, they're one of the best buys for learning. Beginners spend a lot of time falling on their backside, and padding there reduces the bruising so you can keep riding through the day. They're just as useful for park riders learning new tricks.

ABOUT BURTON SNOWBOARDS - 2027 RANGE
Burton Snowboards was founded by Jake Burton Carpenter in 1977 in a Vermont barn with a single obsession: make snowboarding a real sport. Nearly 50 years later, Burton is still independently owned, still rider-led, and still the most influential snowboard company on the planet. Jake passed away in 2019 and Donna Burton Carpenter continues to lead the company with the same conviction he built it on.
The 2027 Burton range at Twelve Board Store covers the full spectrum — the Custom Camber, Custom Flying V, Custom X and Process Pure Pop for men, the Feelgood Camber, Feelgood Flying V, Yeasayer Flying V and Yeasayer Pure Pop for women, plus the Family Tree series for riders who want something more unique. Every Burton Re:Flex binding we sell fits every snowboard in our store — Burton, YES., Jones, Nitro, Lib Tech and every other brand we carry. No compatibility worries, no checking specs. Buy the board you want, buy the bindings you want.
Burton Step On® is available across boards, boots and bindings — three contact points, one step per foot, no straps. If you do resort laps it changes your day completely. Burton [AK] outerwear is also available in-store and online, built around Gore-Tex Pro for riders who need serious protection in serious conditions.
