The Commuter adds padded convertible straps so you can wear it as a backpack, plus extra haul handles, which makes it the better pick if you're walking or taking public transport to the snow.

Is the Commuter Space Sack good for flying?
It's built as a commuter and road trip bag, with weather and scratch protection rather than full travel padding. The zips take TSA locks, but for checked baggage we'd point you to the padded Burton Wheelie Gig Bag or Wheelie Flight Attendant.
