What's the difference between the [ak] Freebird 3L Bib and the [ak] Cyclic 2L Bib?
The Freebird is the lighter, stretchier 3-layer option, built for backcountry and touring. Burton says GORE-TEX 3L is lighter than 2L GORE-TEX, and the Freebird adds stretch fabrication and a RECCO® reflector. Both bibs are shell construction with a relaxed fit and a 5/5 Burton waterproofing and breathability rating. If you spend more time earning turns than riding lifts, go with the Freebird.

How do I choose my size and inseam for the [ak] Freebird Bib?
Choose your size from your waist and hip measurements, and your inseam from your inside leg. The Freebird comes in XS–XXL with Short (77cm), Regular (83cm) and Tall (88cm) body inseams. For reference, Burton's model is 183cm and wears a Large. Burton recommends cuffs that don't pool at the front, to keep them clear of binding buckles. Is the [ak] Freebird Bib backcountry ready?
Yes. Burton designed it for backcountry and touring, with a beacon loop in the right pocket, a RECCO® reflector, Crossflow Venting™ for hikes and skin tracks, and a lightweight 3L shell made for layering. A RECCO® reflector helps rescue teams with RECCO® detectors locate you, but it's not a replacement for carrying an avalanche transceiver, probe and shovel.
