When you're buying a Jones snowboard in Australia, where you buy it matters more than most riders realise. Not every snowboard shop is equal when it comes to Jones — and the distinction starts with EPICenter status.
Twelve Board Store is an official Jones EPICenter. We are also the largest Jones dealer in the southern hemisphere. This page explains what both of those things actually mean, and why they should change how you think about buying Jones gear in Australia.
What is a Jones EPICenter?
EPICenter is Jones Snowboards' designation for a small number of flagship retail partners around the world — stores that meet a higher standard of product depth, brand knowledge and customer experience than a general authorised dealer. Not every store that sells Jones qualifies. EPICenter stores are selected by Jones directly based on range depth, staff expertise, sales volume and commitment to the brand's mission.
In practical terms, what EPICenter status means for you as a buyer:
First and deepest allocation. When Jones releases a new season's boards, EPICenter stores receive priority allocation. We get more models, more sizes and more units than non-EPICenter stores. If a specific board or size sells out across the market, we are more likely to have it — and we receive it first. For popular models in key sizes (the Mountain Twin in a 158, the Flagship in a 162, the Solution Split in a 159), that allocation priority is real and it matters during peak pre-season buying.
The full range, not a curated subset. A general Jones stockist might carry 10–15 models. We carry the complete Jones range: every solid board, every splitboard, the full binding range, outerwear, bags and backcountry accessories. If Jones makes it and it's available in Australia, we have it or can get it. No other single retailer in Australia carries the breadth of Jones product we do.
Direct brand support and knowledge transfer. EPICenter stores have a direct relationship with Jones — not just a distributor relationship. That means our staff are trained directly by the brand, we have access to the brand's own product expertise, and we are connected to the people at Jones who design and ride this gear. When we tell you which Jones model suits your riding, we are not reading off a spec sheet — we are drawing on a relationship with the brand built over years.
What is the Re-Up program — and why does it matter that we're the drop-off point?
Jones Re-Up is the brand's snowboard recycling program. At the end of a board's life — when it's too beaten up to ride but too good to landfill — Jones accepts old boards back and processes them into new materials. It's part of Jones's status as a certified B Corp and one of the most genuinely sustainability-committed companies in snowboarding.
Twelve Board Store is the official Jones Re-Up Melbourne drop-off point. Bring your old Jones gear into our Richmond store and we'll take care of the rest. No other Melbourne retailer offers this. For buyers who care about what happens to their board after it's ridden out — this matters.
Largest Jones dealer in the southern hemisphere
This is not a marketing line — it's a statement of product reality. We carry more Jones models, more Jones sizes and more Jones stock than any other retailer in Australia, New Zealand or anywhere in the southern hemisphere. That means:
- If a size exists, we are the most likely to have it in stock
- If a model is available for the current season, we carry it
- If you want to compare two Jones boards side by side in a Melbourne store, you can do that at our Richmond showroom
For buyers in other states ordering online, our allocation depth means your order is more likely to be in stock and dispatched quickly rather than sitting on a waitlist or backordered from a store that ran out of your size in July.
The Mint Tours connection
Twelve Board Store has been partnered with Mint Tours for over 20 years. Mint Tours run snowboarding trips to Japan — the conditions that Jones's directional shapes are built to handle at their best. Our staff ride Jones boards in Japan every season through this partnership. When we tell you how the Flagship performs in Hokkaido powder or how the Solution Split handles the Main Range at Thredbo, that's not theoretical knowledge. We've ridden these boards in the conditions they were designed for.
The workshop connection
Frosty runs our in-house workshop seven days a week from our Richmond store. Every Jones board we sell is backed by that in-house service for waxing, tuning, edge work and repairs. Jones boards — particularly the higher-end freeride and splitboard models — benefit from proper seasonal maintenance. Having the workshop under the same roof as the store means you can buy, set up and service your Jones gear without leaving our building.
What this means when you're choosing where to buy
Any authorised Jones dealer can sell you a Jones board with a valid warranty. The difference with an EPICenter is everything around that transaction: deeper stock, more sizes, staff who know the range intimately, first allocation on new models, Re-Up drop-off, in-house workshop and a 20-year connection to riding this gear in the field.
If you're in Melbourne, come into our Richmond store. If you're anywhere in Australia, our online store carries the full Jones range with free shipping Australia-wide and same and next-day dispatch. If you have questions about which Jones board suits your riding, call us or use our contact form — this is the conversation we have every day and we're good at it.
