Protec Classic Low Pro Snow Helmet | Matte Black
Pro-Tec's deepest fit, built for the mountain.
This is Pro-Tec's Low Pro Snow Certified helmet in Matte Black: the slim, deep-fitting Low Pro shape set up for snowboarding and skiing. It's for riders who want that low skate-style look in the park and around the resort without a bulky lid.
The SLIMTECH CORE uses EPS Matrix Foam 22% thinner than a standard helmet, so it sits deep and close. The FLEXLOCK FIT system and a 17-piece snow padding kit dial in the fit, while a full-coverage terry and mesh liner, plush faux fur ear pads and 11 mesh-covered vents manage warmth and airflow. A lowered rear clip keeps your goggle strap in place.

Size Guide
Wrap a soft tape around your head about 2cm above the eyebrows, over the widest point at the back. Pro-Tec recommends sizing up if you measure at the top end of a size range (for example, 54cm goes to the bigger size), and says riders usually find the larger size more comfortable. Measure without a beanie; the liner is built to be worn on its own.
| Size | Head circumference |
|---|---|
| XS/S | 51–54cm |
| S/M | 53–57cm |
| L/XL | 57–60cm |
| XL/XXL | 60–63cm |
Sizes overlap; use the 17-piece snow padding kit to fine-tune.
About Pro-Tec
Pro-Tec has been protecting skaters since 1973 and is one of the most recognisable helmet brands in skate and BMX. The Classic and Full Cut shapes have stayed in the range for years because riders keep asking for them. Pro-Tec's team list reads like a who's who of transition skating and BMX, from Steve Caballero and Steve Alba to Sakura Yosozumi and Australia's own Poppy Starr Olsen, with snowboard legend Todd Richards on the snow side.
Today Pro-Tec is known for that unmistakable skate shell, backed by modern certification: most of its skate helmets carry the US bicycle standard (CPSC 1203) alongside the skateboard standard (ASTM F1492), and its snow helmets are tested to EN 1077B and ASTM F2040. Signature editions with Santa Cruz, Spitfire, Steve Caballero and FIT Bike Co keep the culture front and centre. Riders choose Pro-Tec because it looks right, fits low and has been protecting skaters for over 50 years.
FAQs
What certifications does the Pro-Tec Low Pro Snow have?
The Pro-Tec Low Pro Snow is certified to EN 1077 Class B, the European ski and snowboard standard, and ASTM F2040, the US snow sports standard. Pro-Tec doesn't list a bicycle standard for this model, so it's a snow helmet only, not for bike or e-bike riding.
What size Pro-Tec Low Pro Snow should I get?
Measure around your head about 2cm above the eyebrows: XS/S 51–54cm, S/M 53–57cm, L/XL 57–60cm, XL/XXL 60–63cm. At the top of a range, go up a size and fine-tune with the padding kit. It should sit level with your goggles, with no gap at the forehead.
When should I replace my helmet?
Replace it after any significant crash or hard hit, even if you can't see damage. The EPS liner crushes to absorb a big impact and doesn't bounce back, so it won't protect the same way twice. Also swap it out if the shell cracks, the foam is dented or the strap and buckle are worn. Pro-Tec doesn't publish a set age limit, so check it over regularly.
Does the Low Pro Snow work with goggles?
Yes. A lowered rear clip holds your goggle strap aligned and locked in place. As with any helmet, try it with your goggles to check there's no gap at the forehead.

Let customers speak for us
Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
Over a decade in business. More than 1,000 reviews. The most trusted specialist board store in Melbourne. If you need advice before you buy, call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us in-store, or contact us online — we'll get you sorted.
