Protec Classic Certified Snow Helmet | Matte Grey (No Box)
The Pro-Tec Classic, certified for snow.
The Classic Certified Snow takes Pro-Tec's team-favourite Classic shape and makes it a proper snow helmet, here in Matte Grey. It's for snowboarders and skiers who want the low skate look on the hill, from park laps to all-mountain days. This one is sold without its original box.
A high-impact ABS shell sits over a lightweight EPS liner, with 11 mesh-covered vents and a heat-sealed liner. Removable ear pads with a neck curtain keep the cold out and accept audio (not included), and a rear goggle clip holds your strap. It's a shell-sized helmet with no dial, so getting the size right from the chart matters.

Size Guide
Wrap a soft tape around your head about 2cm above the eyebrows, over the widest point at the back. Pro-Tec recommends sizing up if you measure at the top end of a size range (for example, 54cm goes to the bigger size), and says riders usually find the larger size more comfortable. Measure without a beanie.
| Size | Head circumference |
|---|---|
| XS | 52–54cm |
| S | 54–56cm |
| M | 56–58cm |
| L | 58–60cm |
| XL | 60–62cm |
Shell-sized with no dial. Should feel snug all round with no pressure points.
About Pro-Tec
Pro-Tec has been protecting skaters since 1973 and is one of the most recognisable helmet brands in skate and BMX. The Classic and Full Cut shapes have stayed in the range for years because riders keep asking for them. Pro-Tec's team list reads like a who's who of transition skating and BMX, from Steve Caballero and Steve Alba to Sakura Yosozumi and Australia's own Poppy Starr Olsen, with snowboard legend Todd Richards on the snow side.
Today Pro-Tec is known for that unmistakable skate shell, backed by modern certification: most of its skate helmets carry the US bicycle standard (CPSC 1203) alongside the skateboard standard (ASTM F1492), and its snow helmets are tested to EN 1077B and ASTM F2040. Signature editions with Santa Cruz, Spitfire, Steve Caballero and FIT Bike Co keep the culture front and centre. Riders choose Pro-Tec because it looks right, fits low and has been protecting skaters for over 50 years.
FAQs
What certifications does the Pro-Tec Classic Certified Snow have?
The Pro-Tec Classic Certified Snow is certified to EN 1077 Class B, the European ski and snowboard standard, and ASTM F2040, the US snow sports standard. Pro-Tec doesn't list a bicycle standard for this model, so it's a snow helmet only, not for bike or e-bike riding.
What size Pro-Tec Classic Certified Snow should I get?
Measure around your head about 2cm above the eyebrows and match it to the chart: XS 52–54cm up to XL 60–62cm. At the top of a range, go up a size. It should sit level with your goggles, with no gap at the forehead.
When should I replace my helmet?
Replace it after any significant crash or hard hit, even if you can't see damage. The EPS liner crushes to absorb a big impact and doesn't bounce back, so it won't protect the same way twice. Also swap it out if the shell cracks, the foam is dented or the strap and buckle are worn. Pro-Tec doesn't publish a set age limit, so check it over regularly.
Can I use headphones with the Classic Certified Snow?
Yes. The removable ear pads accept helmet audio drop-ins, which are sold separately. The ear pads and neck curtain also come out for warmer spring days.

Let customers speak for us
Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
Over a decade in business. More than 1,000 reviews. The most trusted specialist board store in Melbourne. If you need advice before you buy, call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us in-store, or contact us online — we'll get you sorted.
