Nitro Cave TLS Step On® Women's Snowboard Boot | 2026
The Best Boot. The Best Binding System. No Compromises.
The Cave TLS Step On® is what happens when two of snowboarding's most trusted technologies come together in one boot. Nitro's best-fitting, most comfortable boot platform meets Burton's Step On® binding interface — the most convenient, reliable connection system on the market. Once you ride it, you'll wonder how you ever strapped in any other way. TLS twin lacing, the Cloud 9 liner, interchangeable stiffness via the Power Tongue Stiffener, and instant Step On® engagement — this is a boot that handles everything from your first run of the season to your last lap of the day without asking anything of you except to ride.
The Cave's shell is built around an advanced all-mountain architecture rated at a firm 8/10 flex — responsive enough to drive powerful turns and absorb hard landings, precise enough for technical riding on any terrain. The Power Tongue Stiffener is a removable insert that lets you tune the boot's response to your day: leave it in for aggressive, locked-in performance; pull it out for a more relaxed, forgiving feel. The Ankle Strap with BOA wraps the upper cuff in a binding-style closure that mirrors the feel of a traditional ankle strap — delivering extra heel hold and ankle support without any of the bulk. The Burton Step On® outsole integrates directly with Step On® bindings for instant, secure engagement every time — no straps, no fussing, just click in and go.
The TLS 5 Twin Lacing System runs two independent upper and lower zones on low-abrasion Dyneema® laces — lock in your ideal fit in seconds, adjust a single zone without stepping out of your bindings, and bail out at day's end with one pull. The Cloud 9 Liner is heat-mouldable with a lightweight, supportive construction that wraps your foot precisely from the first run. The ILS Internal Lacing System connects the liner to the shell via a lacing harness, eliminating heel slip and liner migration throughout the day. The Re/Lace Liner Locker lets you retighten the liner mid-session with a single pull — no need to undo your boots. The Therminator Shield reflects body heat back into the boot to keep your feet warm through long days on the hill. The Ortholite® High Cup Dual Density Footbed delivers superior shock absorption, energy return, and moisture-wicking performance across a full season — lightweight, anti-microbial, and consistent from day one to the last day of the season.

Frequently Asked Questions:
What size should I order?
The Nitro Cave TLS Step On® runs true to size — order your standard US shoe size. Snowboard boots should feel snug out of the box: toes lightly grazing the front of the liner when standing upright, heel locked down with minimal lift. Drop into a riding stance and the heel drops — that's the correct fit. Remember that Step On® boots and bindings must be the correct matching sizes for proper connection and performance. Check our size guide carefully before ordering, or call us on 03 9421 2293 and we'll confirm the right combination for you.
Do you offer professional boot fitting and heat moulding?
Yes — and it's free when you buy your boots from us. Come into the store at 435A Bridge Rd Richmond and our staff will fit you properly: measuring your foot, checking shell fit before the liner goes in, and heat moulding your Cloud 9 liner to your exact foot shape on the spot. With a boot this technical — BOA ankle strap, removable tongue stiffener, Step On® outsole — getting the setup right in person makes a real difference. A moulded liner means no pressure points and consistent heel hold from run one. Not in Melbourne? We can walk you through the at-home process by phone or message.
What if I get the wrong size or the fit isn't right?
Reach out before you do anything else — call us on 03 9421 2293, message through the contact page, or email info@twelveboardstore.com.au. The Cave TLS has meaningful fit adjustability through the dual-zone TLS, BOA ankle strap, Power Tongue Stiffener, and Re/Lace Liner Locker — many apparent fit issues can be resolved without a return. If the boot genuinely isn't right, we'll swap it. Boots must be unworn outside — lodge floors and carpet only — and returned in original condition.
Do I need specific Burton Step On® bindings to use this boot?
Yes. The Cave TLS Step On® requires Burton Step On® bindings for compatibility — it will not work with traditional strap bindings. Step On® boots and bindings also need to be the correct matching sizes for proper connection and performance. If you're building a complete Step On® setup, our staff can confirm the right boot and binding size combination before you order. Call us on 03 9421 2293 or message through the contact page.

About Nitro
Nitro Snowboards was founded in 1990 by snowboarders, for snowboarders — originally in Seattle, now headquartered in Hünenberg, Switzerland. From the beginning, Nitro built their boots from the inside out, prioritising fit and liner technology above everything else — and that philosophy drives every product they make. The Cave TLS Step On® is the result of that philosophy applied to the most convenient binding system on the market: a boot that fits better, performs harder, and gets you on the hill faster than anything else in its category. Nitro's sustainability commitments include eliminating PVC and harmful plasticisers across their product range, using recycled rubber in outsoles, and plastic-free packaging throughout.

About Snowboard Boots — Buying Guide
Snowboard boots are the most important part of your setup. They connect you to your board, affect your control, comfort, warmth and how much energy you burn across a full day on the hill. Getting the fit right is everything — a boot that fits correctly makes riding easier from your first run. A boot that doesn't will ruin your day regardless of how good the board underneath it is. At Twelve Board Store we fit hundreds of riders every season across brands including Vans, Burton, K2, Ride, ThirtyTwo and DC. Every boot in our range has been ridden and assessed by our team. We only stock boots we'd recommend to our own crew.
Getting your size right online: Measure your foot in centimetres while standing with full weight — this is your Mondo size, the most accurate way to find your boot size. Snowboard boots use US sizing. 25cm = US7, 26cm = US8, 27cm = US9, 28cm = US10, 29cm = US11, 30cm = US12. Boots should feel snug straight out of the box — toes grazing the end when standing, lifting slightly when knees bend forward. A boot that feels comfortable in your lounge room is too big for the mountain.
Volume matters as much as length: Low volume boots suit narrow, low-arch feet. High volume suits wide feet or high arches. Getting volume wrong causes pressure and pain regardless of length. If you're between sizes or have a wide foot, contact us before you buy — we'll point you to the right boot.
Flex rating: Soft (1–4) for beginners, park riders and those who want a surfy, forgiving feel. Medium (5–7) for all-mountain versatility. Stiff (8–10) for aggressive freeride, carving and riders who want direct response and maximum support.
Closure systems: Traditional lace is still the most popular — micro-adjustable, direct feel, lower price point. BOA® dial gives you one-hand precision tightening with gloves on, fast on/off between runs. Hybrid BOA combines lace at the foot with a dial at the instep for zone-by-zone control. Speed lace is faster than traditional lace and lighter than BOA.
Wrong size? We'll swap it. Not sure? Call us on 03 9421 2293 or chat online — our team will give you a straight answer based on your foot shape, riding style and where you're planning to ride. If you're in Melbourne, come in and try them on at 435A Bridge Road Richmond. We heat mould liners in-store — no appointment needed.
