About Mammut

Mammut started in 1862, when Kaspar Tanner began making ropes in Dintikon, Switzerland. More than 160 years later it's still a Swiss mountain brand at heart, and its climbing ropes, alpine gear and avalanche safety equipment are used by guides and mountain pros around the world.

In the snow world Mammut is known for avalanche safety: Barryvox transceivers, probes, shovels and the Removable Airbag System. The Nirvana pack has been a freeride favourite for years, and the Pro and Light airbag packs are built for guides and experienced backcountry riders. If you want gear from a brand that lives and breathes the mountains, Mammut is it.

FAQs

Will the Mammut Nirvana 35L carry my snowboard?
Yes. It has a dedicated snowboard attachment, and skis or splitboard halves can go on diagonally or A-frame style. That covers bootpacks, splitboard transitions and short hikes from the lift.

Is the Nirvana 35L avalanche-tool ready?
Yes. There's a separate front compartment for your avalanche safety equipment, so your shovel and probe are kept apart from your layers. Always carry a transceiver, shovel and probe in avalanche terrain, and get avalanche training before you head out.

Does it fit a hydration bladder?
Yes. Mammut lists the Nirvana as hydration system compatible. A reservoir isn't included, so bring your own.

What size is the Nirvana 35L?
It's 24 x 60 x 30cm with an M back length of 46cm and weighs about 1.4kg (1400g). It's one size, so try it on loaded if you're between torso sizes.

How do I clean it?
Empty it, brush off dirt and spot clean with mild soap and lukewarm water. Rinse and hang to dry naturally, away from direct heat. Don't machine wash or tumble dry.
