Bataleon Evil Twin Snowboard | 2027

The Iconic Freestyle Twin That Changed Snowboarding

The Bataleon Evil Twin 2027 is one of the most legendary freestyle snowboards ever made. Designed as a true twin park weapon with all-mountain capability, the Evil Twin blends explosive pop, playful flex, and Bataleon's unique 3D shaping to create a board that thrives on jumps, rails, side hits, and creative riding across the entire resort.

At the heart of the board is Bataleon's Triple Base Technology™ (3BT™) combined with SideKick™ uplift, a design that lifts the edges slightly at the widest points of the board. This reduces edge catch and makes spins, presses, and landings smoother while maintaining strong edge hold when carving. The medium camber profile and balanced twin shape deliver reliable pop and stability whether riding regular or switch.

Internally the Evil Twin features Bataleon's Ultra Light Core, carbon reinforcement, and FlexWalls™ urethane sidewalls, creating a board that feels light, responsive, and durable in the park while remaining stable enough to charge across the mountain. The C.S.T. SuperTube™ runs a single carbon cylinder down the centre of the board, reinforcing the camber and boosting pop without stiffening the torsional flex — critical for presses and jib riding. From technical rail lines to huge jumps and natural side hits, the Evil Twin is built to push freestyle riding forward.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the Evil Twin and the Evil Twin+?

The standard Evil Twin is the original — the board that built Bataleon's freestyle reputation. The Evil Twin+ (Plus) is the premium version of the same shape and flex, built with a lighter Super Ultra Light Core, a faster Nano Speed S base (7000-grade sintered vs standard Hyper Glide S), AirRide dampening technology in the core, and Aramid X-Ply reinforcement around the perimeter. Both ride the same twin 3BT™ shape with the same flex rating (5/10) and the same C.S.T. SuperTube™ pop system. If you're a solid intermediate progressing through park, the standard Evil Twin is the better value. If you're an advanced rider who wants the lightest, fastest version with the most dampening at speed, the Evil Twin+ is worth the step up.

Should I ride the regular or wide version?

Choose the wide (W) sizing if your boot size is US10.5 or larger. The standard 157 has a 25.3cm waist — on a US11+ boot that's likely to cause toe or heel drag when you're on edge, especially on firmer Australian resort snow where you're driving harder onto the edges. The 156W widens the waist to 26.2cm and the 159W to 26.5cm, eliminating that drag. If you're right on the boundary (US10–10.5), it's worth coming in to check in person — call us on 03 9421 2293 and we can walk you through the sizing with your specific boot.

What bindings pair best with the Evil Twin?

The Evil Twin uses a 2x4 insert pattern and pairs well with a medium to stiff binding that matches its flex 5 character. From our range we'd recommend the YES. Select, Nitro Team, Burton Cartel, or Flux DS — all solid matches for a freestyle-oriented twin at this flex level. The YES. Select and Nitro Team lean more playful and press-friendly; the Burton Cartel and Flux DS offer a firmer, more precise feel for riders who want more response on bigger jumps and edge-to-edge carving. Not sure which suits your riding? Call us on 03 9421 2293 or come in and we'll sort you out.

It's one of the best. Australian resorts like Buller, Falls Creek, and Thredbo have terrain parks, solid groomed runs, and side hits everywhere — the Evil Twin is genuinely at home across all of it. The flex 5 is firm enough to hold at speed on icy Australian groomers but soft enough to press and jib. The 3BT™ shaping is especially useful on Australian snow, which tends towards firm and groomed rather than deep powder — the reduced edge catch makes it far more forgiving when conditions are hard and uneven. If you're planning to spend time in the park, hit side hits, and still carve groomers confidently, this is the board.

About Bataleon

Bataleon revolutionised snowboard design with Triple Base Technology™, a unique 3D shaping concept that lifts the edges slightly off the snow at the widest points of the board. This creates a ride that's more forgiving, less prone to catching edges, and incredibly fun to ride while still delivering the power and precision of camber. For over two decades Bataleon has pushed freestyle innovation with creative shapes designed for modern snowboarders. The Evil Twin has been at the centre of that story since 2003.
