About Salomon
Salomon was founded in 1947 in Annecy, in the French Alps, when François Salomon set up a small workshop with his wife and son Georges to make saw blades and ski edges. Georges went on to lead the company's transformation into a global outdoor sports brand, revolutionising ski bindings through the 1950s–70s and eventually branching into skis, boots, and hiking footwear. Salomon released its first snowboard in 1997, bringing decades of ski engineering knowledge to hardgoods for men, women, and kids.
Salomon Snowboards splits its design work between Annecy, France, and Portland, Oregon, near Mount Hood — combining French Alps heritage with Pacific Northwest snowboard culture. The brand is now part of the Amer Sports group alongside Atomic and Arc'teryx, and remains known for bringing genuine ski-industry technical rigour to its board, boot, and binding line-up.
The Salomon Snowboard Range
Salomon's line-up at Twelve Board Store spans park-focused freestyle twins through to genuine beginner-friendly boards and quiver-killer all-terrain shapes. Here's what's in the current range:
- Huck Knife — Salomon's flagship true-twin freestyle board, built for jumps, rails, and transitions using the brand's most aggressive Quad Camber profile. A steeper nose and tail cut swing weight for precise spins, while the EQ Rad sidecut keeps things agile and fun across the whole park.
- Huck Knife Pro — The Huck Knife with the volume turned up for elite park riders. More carbon, a Ghost Green Core, and the same aggressive Quad Camber load deliver extra snap, response, and reduced weight for riders pushing the biggest features.
- Assassin — Salomon's quiver-killer directional twin, blending freestyle flair with freeride guts. Rock Out Camber (flat between the bindings, camber near the feet, rocker at the tip/tail) makes it equally happy poaching sidecountry stashes or lapping the park.
- Assassin Pro — The Assassin turned up to elite level, developed with Salomon's Pro team. Increased carbon reinforcement, enhanced dampening, and a Ghost Green Core deliver serious power and precision from big-mountain lines to park laps.
- Dancehaul — A wide, tapered directional party board that rides like something way smaller than its numbers suggest. Rock Out Camber and a Popster core deliver snappy ollies, soft landings, and effortless float in powder — a genuinely fun one-board quiver.
- Rumble Fish — Salomon's women's quiver-killer, built off the award-winning Assassin platform. A directional twin shape with Rock Out Camber blends freeride charging power with freestyle playfulness, for riders who want to carve steep lines and still hit the park.
- Abstract — A true freestyle game-changer, thriving in the park, streets, and across the whole resort. Rock Out Camber and a Popster core pack serious snap and energy into a true twin shape built for riding switch as naturally as regular.
- Oh Yeah — A women's true-twin freestyle board with a playful, forgiving flex and Rock Out Camber. Built for progression from first park sessions through to confident all-mountain moves, with Royal Rubber pads for a smooth, damp ride.
- Lotus — Salomon's genuinely beginner-friendly women's board. Flat Out Camber (flat at the tip/tail and between the bindings, camber underfoot) and Bite Free Edges keep things forgiving and low-consequence, so newer riders can build confidence without the board fighting back.
