About Ride
Ride Snowboards was founded in September 1992 in Redmond, Washington, by Roger Madison, James Salter, and Tim Pogue — three friends who set out to build a snowboard company "for the people," backed by technical innovation and real riders on the design team from day one. Ride quickly became the first publicly traded snowboard-exclusive company in the world, going public on NASDAQ in 1994, and has been through its share of ups and downs since — including a full return to in-house manufacturing in 1995. More than three decades on, Ride remains Seattle-based and firmly focused on snowboards, boots, and bindings.
Ride's reputation has always centred on building boards that back up the hype with genuine engineering — from Carbon Array power distribution and Slimewalls sidewall technology through to the volume-shifted "Pig" family of shapes that helped popularise short, wide powder boards across the whole industry. The brand also puts sustainability into its day-to-day production, using biodegradable factory wax, FSC-certified packaging, recycled steel in its edges, and a growing share of solar power across its factories.
The Ride Snowboard Range
Ride's line-up at Twelve Board Store spans the brand's famous volume-shifted "Pig" shapes through to more traditional all-mountain and freestyle twins. Here's what's in the current range:
- Warpig — The board that helped kick off the volume-shifted movement and is still leading the charge. A wide directional shape, Tapered Bi-Radial Sidecut, and zero camber profile with rocker in the tip and tail deliver serious float in powder along with surprising grip on groomers and side hits — a genuine quiver-killer.
- Superpig — The Warpig shape infused with extra carbon, a little camber, and a stiffer flex for riders who want to charge harder. Same short, wide bones as the Warpig, but noticeably faster edge-to-edge and more locked-in at speed.
- Mtn Pig — The most aggressive board in the Pig series, built with a half-moon split tail for extra float and effective edge in deep snow, and Directional Extra Camber for serious high-speed edge hold. Built for advanced riders who charge big-mountain lines rather than dial it back.
- Magic Stick — A mid-flexing, directional all-mountain shape built for the most demanding women riders. More nose than tail, with a set-back stance and matching sidecut for confident, driven turns anywhere on the mountain.
- Compact — An entry-level women's board built to build confidence and progress freeriding skills. A mellow, forgiving flex and Directional Standard Camber shape make it equally happy carving groomers, weaving through trees, or dipping into fresh powder.
- Manic — An accessible all-mountain board for beginner to intermediate riders. Directional Standard Camber (camber between the bindings, rocker at tip and tail) delivers effortless turn initiation, while a softer flex keeps things forgiving as you progress.
- Shadowban — A genuine one-board-quiver. A directional twin shape with a camber-dominant profile and slightly set-back stance handles everything from early morning corduroy to park laps and powder days without compromise.
- Twinpig — Park power and all-mountain mischief in a compact, true-twin package. Shares the Warpig's short, wide DNA and double-blunted tips, but a softer flex and Asymmetrical Quadratic Sidecut make spins, butters, and switch riding feel effortless.
- Saturday — A mid-flexing women's twin built for riders who want one board for every condition. Twin Standard Camber gives snap and control underfoot with a catch-free, playful feel at the tip and tail — equally happy in the park or carving the whole mountain.
- Vantum — Ride's newest evolution of the Pig family, bridging the nimble, playful character of the Warpig with a more traditional, high-performance all-mountain shape. A Reducing Tri-Radial Sidecut delivers confident edge engagement whether you're in the park, tight trees, or opening it up on a groomer.
- Peace Seeker — A Jake Blauvelt collaboration built to optimise power in soft snow while still holding its own on demanding, deep terrain. A tapered directional shape, extended nose, and deep Bi-Radial sidecut deliver fast turn initiation and effortless float, best suited to confident, aggressive riders rather than beginners.
